Hello, We have a problem with samba 2.0.3 and a lotus notes 4.6.2 client. The local lotus-notes user's databases are on the home-directory of the user in directory notes/data. The home-directory is a directory on a unix (HP) file-server and is accessed with samba. Problem to create directories
Hi all, I have a problem with samba : I can create files, but can't create directories. The server has many shares, on seperated disks. We consider two of them : one 2Tb share and one share with more than 7Tb. Samba configuration is good, and works on many other servers, and on this one except for the large share. Permissions are correctly setted up too. I can read/write files and

They are set up OK but when the Win2K machine goes off line and files are modified it won't sync back when back on the network. Error message from the file sync on windows is 'Access denied' (on the server) But I can easily do the overwrite manually so permissions are OK. Below is the log (level 10)

Update 4.10.2 to 4.10.4: Cant create files in subdirectorie anymore
Hi everyone, since i upgraded from 4.10.2 to 4.10.4 i can't write into subdirectories of a share anymore. This worked perfectly fine before i upgraded and also works again if i downgrade.? I think either something is fishy with the 'filename_convert_internal' function of ".../source3/smbd/filename.c" or my configuration needs to be adjusted for 4.10.4. I tried several

With smbd running I can even navigate the filesystem using smbclient. Unfortunately when I try to access the exported file system from WinNT the mountpoint of the filesystem shows up as a zero size file

On the servers that have been upgraded, the log files are filling up with some ominous messages, but curiously, users are not reporting any errors at the moment. The following are characteristic of

Error copying dot-files to samba share
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, I'm having a problem copying (overwriting) a dot file to a samba share. When I create a dot file (e.g .project) on a local drive at the XP machine, I'm able to copy the file to the share ONLY if it does not exists there. If the file already exists, Samba refuses to overwrite the file. The reason of this behavior must have something
