I guess I'm sort of surprised and I expected better performance I have a new server set up with RAID 10 drives (6) Repeated a number of times and though I am clumsy with stop watch timing, these numbers appear to be close enough for government work... Winbind process stuck at 100% after changing use_mmap to no

I just wanted to be sure of the implications of what I was doing and what areas of the operation of Samba and CTDB might be affected given the confusing results of my ping_pong tests.

Managing Kerberos tickets via winbind on a laptop
Dear all I'm not too sure where to start here - possibly a feature request. I am getting great results with using Winbind to manage Kerberos tickets for Linux workstations "joined" to an AD. Fixed machines work beautifully - I have Raspberry Pis and PCs (running Arch and Gentoo) and servers running Ubuntu LTS , all doing Kerberos against AD KDCs with local logins via AD and local

[Vars] package: impulse response function
Hello, I'm doing a research on the impulse responses in VAR models and I'm having troubles in interpretation of R results. My question is what is the shock of impulse variable that is produced to obtain the response? Is it one-standard-deviation positive shock? If it is so how can I obtain the responses on other types of shocks, say, 10% negative shock? Thanks a lot, Marion

Specifying State Space model to decompose structural shocks
Dear all: Greetings! I am trying to replicate a simple state space model in R, using the package 'dlm'. This model has two observation equations and three state equations. Each observation equation represents structural shocks based on SVAR for country i, where i=1 to 2. The structural shocks (S1 and S2) are to be decomposed into common (sv1) and country-specific (sv2, sv3) shocks. We

Success story: updating LG DVD firmware using Wine
Hello, I have an LG GSA-4163B drive. Recently I had many problems with the drive not recognizing correct writing speed, and locking up hard on many DVD-RW media. When I bought the drive, the latest firmware was at version A100, and it was available bundled with a DOS flasher. Unfortunately LG dropped DOS support, and now all the firmware updates are Windows only. As the drive was barely usable
