Everyone group difference between ACL/no ACLs.
Hello! I'm running Samba 2.2.8a on top of a ext3 filesystem with ACLs enabled. (kernel 2.4.20-gentoo-r2) With ACLs disabled (i.e., mount /dev/hdd1 /mnt/floppy (no -o ACL)), the Security box under windows 2000 works like I want it to with respect to the Everyone group; If I want the Linux permissions to be, say, 770 (rwxrwx---), I can select everyone and hit "Remove." Weird samba problems / more info
I have a level 10 debug of the smbd/oplock process_local_message problem but can still not figure out what causes the unknown UDP message command code. I checked the source but could only see that this is an invalid opcode command. Anyone a clue what is happening here ? Might wrong opcode commands crash samba ? 2.2.8a with kernel-2.4.22 has kernel oplock problems (NOT Failed to setup RT_SIGNAL_LEASE handler)
I have a samba problem on a redhat 9 box that appears to be clearly linked to a new kernel 2.4.22nptl when using "kernel oplocks = yes". I am trying to install a printer driver on a win98se box that tries loading the driver files from a share on the 2.2.8a server. The installation fails as win98se cannot read all the files as it would like to. I have two things I can do to avoid the

: Win XP Client does not remove directories
Hello mailinglist, I have a strange problem, which occurs sometimes on some WinXP clients. It is not 100% reproducable for me, but it returns regular. The problem is, that somehow a user can't delete a directory. All files in the directory will be removed successfully, but the directory itself not. Deleting with the Explorer or over the cmd-console returns in the same result. First the

RT_SIGNAL_* issue - samba 3.0.9
This is part of the log and strace output from samba 3.0.9 running on kernel 2.4.27. The output from samba 3.0.8 on kernel 2.6.9 looked somewhat similar... I haven't seen much on the list or ancilliary documentation recently, other than "it is fixed for samba > 3.0"... Could someone please shed some light on this? Cann't get Samba 3.0.0 installed on a SuSE 8.2
Hallo, after I got same error messages because of missing Kerberos, I deinstalled heimdal and installed Kerberos 5 (_devel, _libs, _workstation). I also made the necessary changes in the /etc/krb5.conf file and tested the connection with the Active Directory with the kinit ...@.... I also synchronized the time and so I get the tickets. Now I wanted to install Samba 3.0.0 on SuSE 8.2 and there the
