Hi list,
I'm getting stuck at the replication part for my BDC. Could
someone familiar with OpenLDAP replication shed some light?
I'm sure
that password is correct
Thanks for taking a look at!

login failed
Hello
i've samba 3.022 with a ldap 2.2.26. I've no pb to join domain with my
win2000, but when I reboot I'm reject (bad username ...).
I find in debug that the first param sent by the client was the login
and I think it must be the machines name.
Any idee ?

Samba with LDAP - conflict with pam_ldap?
Hi,
I'm using Samba 2.2.4 with LDAP support (OpenLDAP 2.0.23), and with
pam_ldap included in the rpm nss_ldap 1.86 from Redhat (I'm on Linux
Redhat 7.2).
All these things are working well (I use the same object SambaAcount
under PosixAccount in order to authenticate all these things), but a
problem appears when I'm trying to list all the accounts and groups from

samba + openldap + tls
Hi,
I using openldap 2.0.23 and samba 2.2.4 on a Redhat 7.2 Linux distrib.
I've compiled with ldap support dans It works fine in clear mode. I've
configured unix auth. in order to use ldap on TLS mode, and it works also.
When I try to use TLS more (or SSL on 636), it doesn't work. LDAP
doesn't seem to have an error (see logs below), but samba tells "Failed

Samba 3.0.24 handling LDAP responses incorrectly
Hey list,
Recently I've gotten my Samba PDC to successfully use an OpenLDAP
backend, while using the smbk5pwd and ppolicy overlays for OpenLDAP.
However, Samba appears to incorrectly handle responses from LDAP's
ppolicy overlay, even though it very clearly receives them. If I enter
in a password (be it through Ctrl+Alt+Delete or when a password expires
and the user is prompted at logon)

I have for some time now tried to get an SAMBA based Domain Controller
working.
I have tried with OpenLDAP and tdbsam as backend, but I get the same

I wood prefer to use LDAP as my backend.
I have read tons of how-to SAMBA + LDAP, but non of the seams to work
for my, is there someone that maybe can see what I have done rung in
my config.?

I could really use some help here (SAMBA PDC)
The log files are attached, I have NEVER had so much trouble with a
samba PDC before. I need to turn in my unix admin license, this is
pathetic...
Anyway, I am here. When trying to join a domain with the administrator
account I get "no mapping between account name and security ID's was done"
And the joining fails...
All the needed files are attached, from the ldap log. to the

3) getent passwd, wbinfo -u shows me all users (authenticating agains
Windows PDC)
4) i'm using nsswitch (passwd: files winbind, group: files winbind)

Samba 3.4.7 with LDAP authentication
Hello All,
I have samba (Version 3.4.7) installed on a Ubuntu Server 10.04 (64-bit) using apt. I'm attempting to authenticate users connecting to the samba share over LDAP following the documentation https://help.ubuntu.com/10.04/serverguide/C/samba-ldap.html, but the authentication over LDAP fails. The OpenLDAP server was already configured to include the samba.schema, so i have skipped all

database got corrupted, users could not login
I'm running Samba with LDAP on SuSE. Users had trouble logging in - finally
I just ran db_recover & restarted ldap and samba. It looks like the LDAP
database got corrupted somehow because samba couldn't get the LDAP data.
Also I created accounts with smbldap-useradd -m -a -B 1 username. Some of
the users were just using the same password samba seemed to kick them out. I
