Win95 systems see network appropriately.
WinXP systems can see the files

What do I need to do to fix this?

"username map" parameter not working after upgrade to SAMBA 3
I have been using the "username map" parameter for some time on various
versions of Samba 2, and it has worked nicely. Last week I upgraded to
Samba 3 and integrated with Active Directory. Since I am using Solaris
8, and "nsswitch.conf" doesn't support winbindd, I am using the "add
user script" parameter to add users. What is happening is that users in

ntlogon.conf
Hey Everyone...
I'm hoping this is an easy one. I am using the ntlogon scripts that
come with the samba examples (ntlogon.py and ntlogon.conf). It's working
fine, except for one thing. I'm trying to set entries up for the groups
"Domain Admins" or other groups with spaces in the name.
The example that comes with it shows ...

Can't see shares on a server member
Hi team,
I'm dealing with AS/U as a member server on a Samba 3.0.20 PDC.
Jonction seems ok, and from the member server I can see PDC's shares (with
net view) and authenticate user (with net logon user passwd
/domain:domainname).
On the other side, I fell into timeout when running smbclient -L member
from the PDC. Here is a log.nmbd loglevel 10 from PDC as there is no other

authentication problem with winXP
Hi,
Here is my situation. I share several directories as public, and some
other that must be read-write but with authentication (it does not matter
is the client supplies the username or not, although it would be nice, but
the password is essential as not everybody must have write permission).
So what i first did was use the server with "security=user". WindowsXp
does not see my shares

w2ksrv, and a samba based netlogon?
Is it possible to have a windows 2000 server in AD mode, with a samba server
as a domain member, and have the roaming profiles and netlogon stuff all
happen on the samba server?
So:
W2ksrv as ADC.
Samba box is joined to AD on the w2ksrv box.
We then add a user to the w2ksrv box, and set up the profile to load from
\\sambaserver\homes\profile\ and to run the logon script from

Printing to shared printer using a Mac (OSX)
I am using Mandrake 10 as a file and print server on for my home network. All
of my PC clients can print successfully to the epson stylus c60 that I have
attached to the printer. My Mac, using OS X (10.3) cannot. It says that it
cannot find the printer .. Is there a special setting that I must use in
the smb.conf file?

printing - Win95 & Win98 not working - NT,2000, XP are ok.
Hi folks - I am having printing problems with our older machines.
Printing is working okay for our Windows NT, 2000 and XP clients.
However, with windows 95 & 98, the print job gets put into the Samba
spool directory (path = /var/spool/lp/tmp/samba) but doesn't make it to the
printer.
The print files stay there in the directory - don't get removed.
Samba version is 2.2.7a, on

Win95/Samba problem: Can't log on first time, second time OK
Hi!
I have set up a Win95/Samba network at our school. The server is a Digital Venturis 575e running RedHat Linux 5.0 and Samba 1.9.18p7. The clients are Win95 machines.
Quite often when a user tries to log on to the network, he gets this message: 'The domain password you supplied is not correct, or access to your logon server has been denied.'
However, if he tries again with the same

Help - Adding winXP pro clients to win95 and Samba 2.2.x setup
Hi!
Questions.
1) Do I have to upgrade to Samba 3.x
to support winXP pro clients
(NO PDC)
2) What are the complications of adding
WinXP pro clients to an existing win95/samba 2.2.x

3) IF i have to upgrade to Samba 3.x,
is it easy, or do I have to plan to
do a bit or a lot of work.

Moving a domain to new Linux install - Win7 ok but WinXP not ok
Hi all,
I am migrating a Samba 3 domain from an ageing server to a new server. I've
exported all users from the old server and imported them on the new server
using the following command (LDAP to TdbSam):
pdbedit -i ldapsam:ldap://127.0.0.1 -e tdbsam:/tmp/tdbsam.agix
scp /tmp/tdbsam.agix new.server.local:/etc/samba/passdb.tdb
I've set the same SID on the new server. Windows7

Can't see my Samba/Linux server on Win95 browser
Hello,
I am new on Samba and need to set up Samba server on a Linux server for
Windows 95 clients. I installed Samba from RedHat Linux 6.1 CD. My smb.conf

After this configuration, I can map drive from Win95 machine using NET USE
