(retry) 3.0.7: 'map to guest' incomplete behavior
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

(my first attempt got mangled because of the attachments, so I'm
reposting)
I have a 3.0.7 server that is part of an active directory domain, and I
have a problem where 'map to guest = Bad User' doesn't do what I expect.
On this system, unix users are a subset of AD users. Those users who
have accounts on both unix and AD can

Samba 3.0 question, DOMAIN vs. SERVER method? Help!
Hello all!
We are attempting to get Samba-3.0.10 working on a new Solaris 8 machine in
preparation for upgrading an existing 2.2.8 installation (both use the
SMCsamba packages from SunFreeware.com). We copied over the smb.conf file
and the usermap from the Samba-2 installation, and seeing some weird
symptoms when Windows users try to connect to the new machine.
We ran "net join" to

Newbie configuration Q
Hi,
I need a v simple samba setup in order to share files between a
Windows AD network (W2003 server) and a SCO Unix box. Samba is
installed, albeit the oldish version which comes on the SCO CD - v2.2
IIRC.
A user (any user) can login to unix, run a program which generates a
file in the /shared folder. This needs to be accessible to a program
which runs in windows from anyone's PC (or

[PATCH] net: virtio_net: use new api ethtool_{get|set}_link_ksettings
The ethtool api {get|set}_settings is deprecated.
We move this driver to new api {get|set}_link_ksettings.
As I don't have the hardware, I'd be very pleased if
someone may test this patch.

Problem retrieving data from R2InBUGS
Dear list
I am calling the functiton bugs() provided by R2WinBugs to performs an IRT analysis. The function returns a set of estimated parameters over n replications/iterations. For each replication, two sets of person measures (theta1 and theta2) and two sets of item difficulty parameters (diff1 and diff2) are returned. The code used to obtain these estimates is as follows:

Samba 4.6.7 AD, Netapp CDOT 9.2 and missing "Domain Users" membership
Hi,
we are testing a new AD domain that will replace our old NT4 one, and we
are setting up a new cifs vserver of our Netapp filer (running Clustered
Dataontap 9.2).
The new AD domain was a clean deployment created using "samba-tool
domain provision --server-role=dc --use-rfc2307 ...".
All seems to work well and the Netapp filer joins the domain without
errors and seems to run fine.

mount read/write ntfs via samba
Until now, we've been using samba to push out unix files to windows users.
With
Security = domain, this works perfectly. Now we'd like to go the other way
ie mount
on the linux side our PC files. Using
mount -t smbfs -username=administrator //pc-server/users /PCuser
works but all files appear to be owned by root so users can't write to
their own files.
I can add dmask=777,

nt acl support
Hi,
I am currently putting together a smb server,
the client requires a single share where he can add
and remove read/write permissions for any user using
acl permissions from his win2k machine.
I have created a share, made him "admin user"
however ---- adding & removing ACL permissions
per user is impossible.
The error's that I am currently receiving are :

Help: argument is not numeric or logical: returning NA
Hi,
One problem with your example dataset is that you have 11 list
elements with the last one having different dimensions.? I think it was
based on `summarized`.
Then, the second problem I encountered for testing is that the dataset you provided doesn't fulfill the criteria.
lst1<- list(structure(list......) #output of dput

lst2<- lst1[1:10] #deleted the last list element

Xapian Benchmark results
Hi,
I am currently trying to benchmark a multithreaded xapian implementation on
a chameleon baremetal instance written in C++. My workload is a 3 Gig
wikipedia xml dump consisting of ~286 file of different sizes. My results
are showing me that indexing on xapian is an order of magnitude faster than
my lucene and lucene plusplus implementations. This is a result that I did
not expect. Just want to

reshaping list into a contingency table
Hi all,
I have been struggling with this problem for a few days.
I have a data table like this:
gene rpkm1 diff1 rpkm2 diff2
gene1 23 50 13 120
gene2 111 220 827 1200
gene3 75 998 71 910
And I want to re-format it so that, for each gene, I have a 2x2 contingency
table, such as:
gene rpkm diff
gene1 23 50
gene1 13 120
gene2 111 220
gene2 827

[LLVMdev] Missing inclusion of <algorithm> and the fix for variable length array I forgot to attach to previous message
Two files forgot to #include <algorithm> so std::find was not defined -
I guess some gcc header included this indirectly, but VC does not...
I also include the patch for the variable length array problem I forgot
to attach to my previous mail.
