NetShareEnum counterpart
Hello, I am searching for a Samba counterpart of the Windows API function NetShareEnum http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb525387%28VS.85%29.aspx - a function that lists the smb resources of a given server. It googled quite a lot and had a quick look on the libsmbclient header but did not find anything that helped. `smbclient -L' does what I look for amongst other things ... I am

NetShareEnum bug on Win 2003 Server
Hi all! I believe there is a bug regarding NetShareEnum command when run against a Win 2003 server. When run I only get back one share and then I get Segmentation fault. Using NetShareGetInfo 'sharename' works perfectly and also NET LIST SHARE. Any suggestions? Samba version is 3.21.rc-1 running on a FC 4 machine. Regards, Henrik

Samba 3.0.9/10, missing 'net rap printq list' on HP-UX?
I have only this platform to try it on, but observe the following inconsistencies: (from the manpage for 'net'): RAP PRINTQ RAP PRINTQ LIST QUEUE_NAME Lists the specified print queue and print jobs on the server. If the QUEUE_NAME is omitted, all queues are listed. ...OK, so: [novosirj@njmsa ~]> /products/samba/bin/net rap printq list ljndemo No command: list

net rap share vs. net share
Hi All, I have been using the 'net rap share' command to enumerate Windows shares and CIFS shares hosted on Filers. I have realized though in some cases that using this command does not show all shares as does using 'net share'. I have looked at the shares hosted on this particular windows box and cannot find any difference between the ones that are enumerated using 'net rap

Listing users from a group (net rap groupmember list)
Hello list! I've been trying to list the users from a group of my samba server (running on an OpenBSD 4.2 box) by using "net rap groupmember list GROUPNAME -S PDC -U administrator%password -w DOMAIN", but I get nothing in return. By running the command with a -d for debug purposes, I get the messages above:

net rap validate
I'm trying to validate user/password pair in a domain without actually being joined (no account in AD server). It is important for me to do it whith this particular condition. My Samba version doesn't implement this command yet (net rap validate). Is there another way to do it? My Samba version is 3.0.33. Should I upgrade to a specific version in which this command is already implemented?

Puppet modifying directories by executing shell script as non-root user results in kernel-level insufficient privilege complaints
I am using Puppet 3.1.0 on a CentOS 6.3 machines. The puppet master and puppet agents use CentOS 6.3 as their OS. I have a puppet script (init.pp file for the puppet module) that contains the following exec type: exec { "postgres init": cwd => "/applications/module", command => "bash initializePostgres.sh", user => "postgres", group =>

Sieve "redirect" changes envelope sender in 2.3. / pigeonhole 0.5
OK, I found a solution: trusted_users = exim:dovecot in my exim.conf fixed it. Anyway this is an important change of behavour between 2.2 und 2.3 In 2.2 the "dovecot" under exims "trusted_users" was not necessary.
