Samba's ADS security mode on Sun Solaris
Hi, I have installed and configured with success Samba 3.0.2a (using a binary package) on a Sun Solaris 8 using the DOMAIN security mode. I used the usermaps.txt file to simplify the overall configuration of Unix vs Windows users, e.g. no winbindd/ldap/pam/etc... I now have a requirement to set it up using the ADS security mode. So, my understanding is that I need to start from the Samba

Samba performance/stability issue...
Hi, I have installed Samba 3.0.2a on a Sun Solaris 8 system using a binary package (which was compiled with no particlar option) downloaded from the www.sunfreeware.com web site. The Samba server is installed and configured with the Domain security level and has joined a Windows 2003 AD server (in native mode). I have created a share and a unix logon. The unix logon is associated to that share

winbind - getent problem
Hi, I'm trying to authenticate users from AD. I did join the machine to the domain, and I'm able to see the users list with wbinfo -u. I have the following problem: "getent passwd" it givs me the list of all users. "getent passwd user" does not give any answer. what could be the problem? I'm using SUSE Linux 10. with the packages that came with the distrib.

2 log files for the same client workstation accessing a Samba sha re
Hi, I am using Samba 3.0.7. Why is there a log filename with the IP address and another one with the machine name in the samba/var directory? For example : log.10.x.x.x. log.machine_name_at_10.x.x.x Note: I deleted all logs before restarting Samba and connecting to a share. Both log files are created at about the same time. Is this a normal Samba behavior? Regards, Marcello

Kerberos vs NTLM 0.12 in Samba log files...
Hi, I am trying to make Samba 3.0.7 work with ADS security mode. In the Win2K3 server's Event Viewer, I see the client's logon. In that log entry's properties, I see that the "logon process" used is Kerberos. However, in the Samba log files, the protocol selected is "NTLM 0.12" and I see a lot of Samba log entries regarding NTLM authentication, nothing about

Joining Samba 3.0.2 vanilla to ADS
I've been looking at several posts for weeks now and finally concluded through testing how to install Samba 3.X into the Windows Active Directory environment. I was completely under the impression that you needed to load Kerbos/ LDAP and a bunch of other stuff. In our case our ADS is running in native mode and I was able to join the domain quite easily. I've tested authentications and

Issues/Questions about Samba 3.x.x versus it's Worki ng Status
Hi Jerry, First, thanks a lot for the answers! In regards, to your reply, can you provide a little bit more precisions here: 1. The question 1 was about not using winbindd when in ADS security mode. Is the answer still Yes? I know that it is true when in DOMAIN security mode. 2. About Question 6, from your answer, my understanding is that the Samba server must be in the same domain as the

Issues/Questions about Samba 3.x.x versus it's Working Status
Hi, I have been trying to setup Samba with ADS for a while now without success. I compiled Samba 3.0.7, along with MIT Kerberos 1.3.5 and OpenLDAP 2.2.17. I did not compiled PAM since I do not need to have Windows users to log on the Unix box. Although not necessary, I setup the krb5.conf file. I was able to do a "net join ads" after performing a "kinit" with the Win2K3

[LLVMdev] RTSC - Real-Time Systems Compiler
Hello Everyone, We are using the LLVM infrastructure inside the RTSC, a operating system aware compiler used for research in the field of real-time systems. MSWORD problem after upgrade to samba 3.0.14a
Hey all, I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing a problem with Samba 3.0.14a. The problems is after the users connects to a samba share and opens msword, creates a document then does "file|save" Then opens the file and makes changes then does "file|save" again, it comes up and says that the backup copy of the file could not be created and never actually saves

[PATCH/DRAFT] Embed metadata into object file
Hi, so this is my first contribution to LLVM/clang, so I hope I come close to the required coding standards and guidelines. First, I will describe the scenario I want to solve: For a few days, the clang plugin interface allows to execute the a plugin just before the actual main action (e.g., compiling an translation unit). In my case, the plugin we're developing will analyze the AST and

Alleged bug in Silk codec
Hi Jean Marc, please find attached the audio file (mono 16khz). I shortened it to about 10 seconds. I also add 2 patches that worked for me. Further info that might help: - The problem seems to be related to silk_burg_modified not reaching the maximum gain, so the actual filter order is 16 rather than 2 (which is what would be expected with a sine wave). - The problem seems to happen when

preserve registers across function call
Hi Marcello, Thanks for your reply. I will try to pass down the mask! I have one more question. In my backend I return CSR_RegMask in getCallPreservedMask and return CSR_SaveList in getCalleeSavedRegs. Is that a correct setup? I dumped the regmask and found that callee saved regs are marked 1 and non-callee saved regs are 0. Thanks, Xiaochu On Wed, Aug 26, 2015 at 5:58 PM Marcello Maggioni

Alleged bug in Silk codec
Hi Jean-Marc, well spotted! The patch provided fixes the issue for me. Nevertheless, in my code (and I would suggest doing the same in libopus) I am going to replace the function with one that accumulates on 64 bits and then calculates the shift, for at least 4 reasons: - It is less and simpler code - The result is likely to be slightly more accurate in case big numbers come early in the
