Login testing ideas
I''ve been going through Pat''s example story and noticed that there was no checking for a bad login. I assume this is because that would have made the article bigger and more complicated than it needed to be. So the question that comes of of this is: How do folks normally handle the negative case? My plan was to just use another scenario, but as a new person to BDD/TDD,

Samba 3 and Mac OS X Jaguar to authenticate AD2003 users
Hi all My network is splitted in two parts: windows and macintosh, but all the usernames/password are on a win2003 server (with active directory, of course). I'd jusk like to allow authentication on both platforms with a single username, stored in AD. I read somewhere that OS X Server 10.3 has Samba 3 as a default package installed, but I can't unfortunately upgrade the OS, so I need some

ad2003 schema while forest/domain at 2008R2 level
Hi everyone, I came across this issue today while upgrading a samba4 AD. The forest/domain level is 2008R2, however the schema partition is actually missing the msDS-isRODC attribute (and probably a few others). It makes the ADUC console to failed on that entry below. Here is the samba log message (which is quite explicit :-) Sep 28 16:55:36 srvads samba[27900]: [2016/09/28 16:55:36.819666,

Win2003 ADS member server - almost working, ideas?
I am attempting to install a Samba-3.0.0,1 on FreeBSD 5.2.1-RELEASE server to an existing Windows 2003 Server Active Directory Domain. I've followed Chapter 6 of the HOWTO man to get as far as I have. #kinit gooduser --successfully gets a kerberos ticket #wbinfo --authenticate=gooduser%goodpassword -- successfully authenticates all user accounts (that I've tested) #wbinfo -u yields

The samba server is installed on a Redhat 9.0 without any base install of samba, without kerberos and with the open LDAP RPM installed. I follow this procedure to build binarie from sources

Active Directory, Listing Users in Groups.
I have samba 3.0.8, as a member of 2000AD and 2003AD. I would like to get groups and the members in each group. The purpose is to maintain a set of Filtering profiles on squidGuard that are based on AD groups. I will have a script that reads a config file with the groupnames to fetch from Active Directory and a Precedence order to set them in. One of the groups will be designated "a NO

RoR&Apache - htaccess rewrite directories fail?
On my server I have a directory at the root, /rails/ which contains other directories with rails projects. In my httpd.conf I have RewriteEngine On RewriteLog "logs/rewrite.log" RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} !^/rails/([^/]+)/public/ RewriteRule ^/rails/([^/]+)/?(.*)$ /rails/$1/public/$2 [QSA,L] So with a GET /rails/test/ you''d get sent to /rails/test/public/ and
