smbmount3 problem
I am trying to connect to a W2K network with Active Directory. I am using
Mandrake 9.1 with the samba3rc4 contrib rpms.
When I issue smbclient3 //<server>/<directory>
I get a password prompt for the directory. After entering my password, I get
the smb prompt. From there all sub-directories are visible to the ls

Hello Tim,
Thank you for the information.
I am wondering if anyone else is facing the same issue? Or it is just that
my institute firewall is creating the problem.

[GSoC] Polly as an Analysis pass in LLVM
Hi Utpal,
This is a nice proposal :)
Can you submit it through the GSoC interface please? I don't see it in the list of applications.
Note that the deadline for the final submission is Friday 7pm UTC.
Best,

isolinux 3.xx bug very maybe?
Is the new Isolinux series effecting hardware in a different way as 2.xx series?
I'm getting a system crash in VMware. I guess this is a Vmware issue, but thought you might want to know.
2.xx series works OK for me.
I get to see 8 dots when loading a 360KB imagefile, following by crash message mentioned below.
Replacing MEMDISK by old version does not matter,
only replacing isolinux.bin 3.05

[GSoC] Polly as an Analysis pass in LLVM
Hello All,
I would like to propose "Polly as an Analysis pass in LLVM
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QyUzL3OOwJSI91lDqr7VsvqUsFyTY9FlpAwbGSipUtw/edit>"
as my project for this years GSoC.
The broad idea is to provide an API to Polly's dependence framework and
integrate it to Loop Vectorizer.
Kindly share your thoughts and help me improve the proposal.

git running very slow
Hi All,
git is running very slow for me while cloning from llvm.org/git/llvm.git
while it is reasonably fast for me cloning from
github.com/llvm-mirror/llvm.git
Please suggest which repo is used by most developers or what alternative I
can use?

Winbind is used if you want to authentificate unix account with a other PDC.
I don't know if on the same server you can use winbind for unix auth and
ldap for Samba ...

Why no BIC.default function?
I'm using R 2.0.1.
I looked in the email archives but didn't see anything on this topic.
I've noticed a surprising (to me) difference between AIC and BIC:

[1] AIC.default* AIC.logLik*

[1] BIC.gls* BIC.lm* BIC.lme* BIC.lmList* BIC.logLik* BIC.nls*
The BIC.gls BIC.lm BIC.lme BIC.lmList and BIC.nls functions appear

[GSoC 2016] Introduction - Polly as an Analysis pass in LLVM
Dear All,
I am glad to be part of GSoC 2016 with LLVM organization. I am a first year
PhD student at IIT Hyderabad, India and my research area is compiler
optimizations using polyhedral model.
My GSoC 2016 project is to implement Polly as an Analysis pass in LLVM [1].
We have a discussion on Polly-dev mailing list [2] on taking a better
approach to implement this project. Based upon this

What BIC is calculated by 'regsubsets'?
The function 'regsubsets' appears to calculate a BIC value that is
different from that returned by the function 'BIC'. The latter is
explained in the documentation, but I can't find an expression for the
statistic returned by 'regsubsets'.
Incidentally, both of these differ from the BIC that is given in Ramsey
and Schafer's, The Statistical Sleuth. I assume

R help: problems with step function
Dear List Members,
I have encountered two problems when using the step function to
select models. To better illustrate the problems, attached is an
R image which includes the objects needed to run the code attached.
lm.data.frame have factor variables with 3 levels.
The following run shows the first problem. AICs (* and **) are different.
I noticed that the Df for rs13482096:rs13483699 is 4,
