transfer to Microsoft Distributed File Service
Hi, list:
Usually, "//server_name/share" is passed to smbclient to do a transfer. However, in case of filing repositores using MS DFS, can smbclient be passed "//domain_name/dfs_share/share_link"? I guess not.
Looking forward to clarification,

Hi all,
I installed a paravirt CentOS 5.4 domU on a CentOS 5.4 dom0 environment.
I compiled the domU kernel with framebuff console. But I couldn’t using VNC

vnc console. But after the boot process, the console appears on the text
console in dom0 again.
The configfile is as follows:

centos7 tmpfiles.d deleted outdate files
Hi all,
I use centos7 and don't want to use tmpwatch as well as crond.
I have a question to use `systemd-tmpfiles-clean.service` with my custom
configured file in `tmpfiles.d` to delete outdated files periodically in
some log dir.
I have a `tmpfiles.d` configured file in `/etc/tmpfiles.d` named
`my_log.conf` in following contents.

how to use my rpm to replace default old version rpm in centos?
Hi all,
I have installed a software using "yum install ...", but the
version of rpm in centos is too old. I have made a new rpm from
source, and now I'd like to use this to replace the old version rpm in
centos cd. So, When I install centos for my computer, I can choose
to install it automaticly.
In my guess, I have to replace the rpm at first. After that, I

$ char in password
Hi, all:
Just come across a strange problem with the usage of "net rpc ...".
If a user's password has the dollar character, it will be discarded, thus cause login failure. For example, if username is "abc" and password is "$1111". I run the command:
=======================================================
net rpc -I 12.34.56.78 -U abc%$1111 USER INFO abc

Slightly OT? - How do I set up Win98 to access a printer on my CentOS box?
I have a WinXP guest under VMWare on my CentOS 5.1 host and it can
access the CentOS printer(s) just fine.
However, I also have a Win98 box on the LAN that I would like to be
able to print on the CentOS printer. When I try to connect to the
printer, Win98 tells me that it can't find the network...?
Any suggestions?
(This "slightly" really is - it _is_ directly related to CentOS,

two printers: one works ok in w9x/2k, other printer unavailable in Win98 BUT ok in w2k!
Hi all,
I try to explain my strange Samba problem: I've done a linuxbox with
Mandrake 8.2 distro; installed Samba 2.2 packages and two printers attached
via parallel port: one works with the motherboard built-in parallel port,
the other is connected via a pci parallel port card. Both works fine on
win2000 clients (and on the linuxbox, too :); on windows 98 clients, both
printers are

No printer status on Win2K client; Win98 and Linux clients are OK
My Win98(SE) Samba clients can query the Samba-exported printer status,
but Win2K(SP3) clients cannot. Both clients can actually print
documents.
I am running Samba v2.2.3a on a Linux (Red Hat v7.3) system. This server
makes 2 printers (via a LPR subsystem) and several shared directories
available to our Linux, Win98 and Win2K (soon to be WinXP also) clients.
From a Win98 client, print

No print to Samba (Linux) printer from Win98
I'm stuck.
I have Samba running on my Red Hat 7.2 Linux box. I can mount by remote dirctory
on the Linux box via Samba. But I can't print to the Linux printer. I have a
Linux printer installed and I can print to it using lpr. I have a printer
configured in Samba and can see that from the Win98SE box. I've clicked on the
Samba printer name and configured a Win98 printer.

Samba's Printer Going Off-Line (after a Win98 Machine speaks to it)
Hi,
I have a light firewall machine that also acts as a Samba print
server for a Win32 host on my intranet. For some reason, if the Win98
machine hasn't printed for an extended length of time, the printer
goes off-line. When the Win32 tries to print, the printer throws an
error and we have to unplug the printer and then plug it back in. It
then tries to finish the print job which
