Box M test
Dear List I am looking for a script that will calculate the Box M test to test the homogeneity of the variance/covariance matrix between two matrices. If anyone could send me the script I would appreciate it. I am aware of the scepticism about this test, where due to extreme sensitivity a p value of 0.01 is recommended. Despite this however Box's M test is the established

help with cluster stopping rules
Is there a function available in R that implements Mojena's Upper Tail Rule or that draws a Mojena plot? I would also like to find a function that implements Duda and Hart's stopping rule. Finally with function cophenet how can I achieve a straightforward Cophenet correlation coefficient (i.e. one number for example 0.876) that gives the agreement between the structure of the

Time series panel
I have a set of data that consists of a number of biological measurements. The columns are Time that runs from 01/01/2005 to 01/5/2007, Group which has 23 levels and postcode which is nested within group. This is a balanced panel but the number of postcodes differs within groups, from 15 to 400. The rest of this data consists of a number of columns of quantitative measures, largely counts.

Samba3 Trust Relationships?
Hey all, After setting up a migration server (a server which will act as a test for a Samba 3.x environment), so we can make sure our migration from Samba 2.2.x to 3.x goes as smoothly as possible, I've hit upon a problem, now I am not sure whether this is the fault of Samba (my configuration) or NT4 or whether this is infact designed behaviour for both/either servers. I'd like to

network design - taking advantage of samba+openldap
In the headquarter of my Institution we have some 300 windows PCs, distributed like this: domain1: 100 clients in a consolidated samba 3.0.5-2 domain (RH 9.0) domain2: 20 clients in an incipient samba 3.0.14a-2 domain (FC4) 80 clients to be joined to domain2 without domain: 150 clients beloging to some three workgroups We outsourced the deployment of a LDAP server and we are in the

Problems authentication with NT PDCs in security = server (was security = user)
The interesting part is that PAM nor the SMB auth plugin for Apache requires you to be a member of the domain. However, the caveat with pam_smb_auth is that you have to have a unix account for every windows user you want to authenticate. I guess the behavior I'm trying to achieve is the one achieved with the Apache plugin: 1) Doesn't require you to be a member of the domain 2)

Problems authentication with NT PDCs in security = se rver (was security = user)
James: (Again someone correct me if I'm wrong) PAM allows local access to the Samba machine as well as authenticating Samba users. Winbind *only* allows for Samba access. This is why I chose *not* to use PAM in my setup. I don't want normal users to have local logon access to *MY* servers. <evil grin> With Winbind, you don't need PAM at all. If you're planning on

Multiple PDCs, Single Domain
Hello, I have a rather experimental question to ask. I know that under standard circumstances, that you cannot have multiple PDC for a single domain, as they will conflict with each other. I am dealing with a case of a school district, where there are multiple buildings. There are T-1s that tie together each of the buildings, then a bonded T-1 grants access to the internet through the main admin

Two PDCs Samba trustrealtionship --> winbind configuration
Greetings! I have the following configuration: Two PDCs (Samba 3.0.21b) with Fedora Core 4: PDC1 and PDC2. PDC1 trusts PDC2, respectively PDC2 is trusted to PDC1. I join an XP workstation to PDC2. After restart i can see both domains in the login screen domain combo box. I can logon to PDC2 , but not to PDC1, since the

The problem on joining a computer running FreeBSD(v5.4) to a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain using samba3.
Hi, I encountered a problem when I joined a FreeBSD machine to a windows = 2003 AD domain. I passed following steps successfully: 1.#net ads join =A8CUAdministrator =20 2.#wbinfo =A8Cu 3.#wbinfo =A8Cg But when I check: #id Domain\\username (I can find this username using command = =A1=B0wbinfo =A8Cu=A1=B1) Id Domain\\username: no such user =20 I found: After restarting samba, there

auth to two diff PDCs? (success, sort of)
With a single server, settings "security = server" and "password server = pdc1 pdc2', I can successfully authenticate against two entirely different PDCs depending on which order I put the two machines in the 'password server' list. Is there someway of forcing clients from either domain to authenticate against the 'right' pdc, regardless of the order in the

Several PDCs with one LDAP
Hello Here is my potential problem: my company (HQ) has 3 branches in three different cities. Each branch have its own domain (PDC), each domain have different SID value but users are authorized in one LDAP directory. Nowadays we have four trees in our LDAP. It's really hard to maintain about 600 users at all. Some of them have entries in all trees, etc.... Question is: is it possible

Transfer user passwords from Samba3 to Samba4
Hi, I'm migrating a domain from Samba3 to Samba4. I now about the possibility to transfer the domain (users and computers) during the provisioning (Upgrade from Samba3 to Samba4). Due to problems with the domain name (I have to change the domain name), SIDs a.s.o. I want to create a new domain during provisioning. Then I want to create/add all users with a script. Is there a way to
