[cifs-discuss] Disk quotas with CIFS & ZFS
There''s not much that CIFS can do as far as user quotas go
without filesystem support. I''ve CC''ed zfs-discuss, somebody
there might be able to provide you something useful.

Hello. I have looked at R Site Search for this problem, and it didn't
give me exactly what I needed.
Consider this dataset called "results". It has the following information:

adding printers from netlogon script
I don't know the final answer BUT if you have something simmilar to a
cyber-cafe LAN (I mean, users use all the computers, and maybe some
users come back to login with the same name) then you have to install a
printer only once in a computer, loging as the administrator and
installing drivers. Then what users will have to do is JUST add the
printer without installing. I know that it's

Storing Quotas in Active Directory
What is the best way to store file system quotas for users in the Active
Directory?
I'm not seeing any standard attributes for this, so it looks like the best
way is to extend the schema. Is this correct?
Thanks,
Greg

Configure not detecting active quotas.
Having a Linux 2.0.30 running Samba 1.9.18p10 with quotas active and
running, I installed Samba 2.0.3 using the Configure script.
It failed to detect quotas and compiled Samba without quota support.
A quick look at the Makefile and edit
from
QUOTAOBJS=noquotas.o
to
QUOTAOBJS=quotas.o
And rerun make rebuilt smbd. Copy into /usr/local/samba/bin and restart all
daemons
and quota support works!

Quotas from Active Directory LDAP
Hi Guys,
I've been trying to get this to work for 3 days now, but no luck. I
have Dovecot set with an Active Directory back-end. Everything is
working properly but I can't get user specific quotas.I tried with
both 1.0.13 and 1.0-rc7. All users have the same quota which is set in
dovecot.conf
dovecot -n
# 1.0.13: /usr/local/etc/dovecot.conf
Warning: mail_extra_groups setting was often

I did in fact create some custom schema mods that can store the quota
information, but it just seems to be an odd way to do it. I am surprised
that others uses Samba 4 on *nix file servers don't talk about this

Samba, quotas and disk capacity?
Hi Bernd,
There have been a lot of improvements in Samba since 2.0.5; I know
that the 2.0.7 version is supposed to support unix HFS and VxFS quotas.
Also the "with-quotas" option must be turned on at compile time, so perhaps
your 2.0.5 version was not compiled "with-quotas"...
I tested quotas and the HP 2.0.7 version here and it works the way that Dirk
mentions,
you will get

disk quotas + centos 5,5 +xfs
Hi all,
is any one aware quotas not working in 5,5?
I'm using XFS as a file system.
My fstab has the appropriate usrquota,grpquota but when I try to run;
quotacheck -cug /foo
I get;
quotacheck: Can't find filesystem to check or filesystem not mounted
with quota option.
I already have a large amount of data in the mount. Do quotas get
implemented on only empty filesystems and

Disk Quotas
Hey all,
I've got quotas enabled and turned on, it works fine for my first test
user:
$ quota -u user1
Disk quotas for user user1 (uid 2001):
Filesystem usage quota limit grace files quota limit
grace
/var/mailboxes 2772 450000 500000 30 0 0
Then, I used the edquota to generate quotas for the next 1000 users:
$ edquota -p user1 2002-3000

Automatic configuration of disk quotas with samba
Hi *, currently I'm having problems trying to configure automatically
the disk quotas for users which access to a server in my work, the stage
is as following:
A server that owns services like: ssh, ftp, sftp, documents and
profiles. The one uses winbind to authenticate users against a active
directory domain controller; that's way we can't use adduser feature to
configure this

Humm... Not liking the errors in this method. Looking at the ldif, I
think we could rework this so that one could modify the LDAP schema
directly using LDAP syntax. In my case, I'm using Net::LDAP. Something

Drop in NT print server replacement; NT print names and NT share names-how to handle with Samba
Hello samba list members,
I am going to be replacing out NT print server with a
linux/samba solution. My main problem/question is how
will the NT clients deal with the Samba server when
the following facts are true.
1. NT creates an NT printer name
2. When you actually share the printer, you can create
a totally different share name.
For example we have the following printer, (and

Samba 4 Active Directory Quotas
I've been messing around with disk quotas for users and have seen some who
have extended the Samba 4 AD schema to include a quota attribute. For
example, I found this schema extension here:
http://fossies.org/linux/quota/ldap-scripts/quota.schema
Is there a common method for doing this?

Disk quotas for Sendmail
Hi,
CentOS 5.x, Sendmail 8.13.8.
I would like to start using disk quotas on my Sendmail server, and optimally
they should be configurable by user or group. How can this be done? (I tried
to google, but no success.)

disk quotas under solaris
Samba 1.9.17p4 on Solaris 2.51
My boss is under the impression that Samba is causing Solaris Disk
Quota program not to work....Without looking into this to hard, is
there a setting or something that Samba could be doing that would
make it that the quota program not work.
Does anybody use Solaris's Quota program with samba successfully?
