Attachment-fu + Story Runner
Hi all, I''m trying to run a Story Runner integration test that uploads a file through Attachment-fu. I''ve tried various ways of specifying the file data, from custom mocks: class MockFile < Struct.new (:original_filename, :read, :content_type); end fdata = MockFile.new "test_upload.txt", "Test Upload", "text/plain" to

attachment_fu & update_attributes... bug?
It seems that attachment_fu is a pretty popular plugin (it''s great), but I''ve been having a terrible time trying to figure out an issue when using "update_attributes". I''m storing files on the file system rather than in a database. It seems that when "update_attributes" is called with a new file, upload_data= tries to copy a file that

Faking it... import local files into attachment_fu
Hello, I''m working on an import utility that will match the functionality of uploading an object of a model that uses attachment_fu for thumbnailing, etc. Rather than uploading the file via a form, I want to populate the params[:image][:uploaded_data] with data from a file already on the server''s file system. So far, I''ve been able to copy to an instance of Tempfile

Story runner "macros"
I''ve gotten quite a bit out of Pat Maddox''s screencast http://evang.eli.st/blog/2007/10/8/story-runner-top-to-bottom-screencast One thing I''m not sure of is the feature where he writes things like: When "I POST to", "/articles", :post => {:title => "Title", :body => "Body") do | path, params| post_via_redirect

How to spec an attachment_fu model
First off, I''m not trying to spec attachment_fu, I know it''s been tested. But, I added some code to that model that I do need to test. Basically, I need to somehow fulfill the "uploaded_data" property so I can actually run my tests(otherwise they fail because of validations). The "uploaded_data" field is what would grab the multipart data from form. Here

Sortable list (scriptalicious) and updating database
I have made a sortable list which is sortable by dragging & dropping the list elements. It works, but the order of the elements will not be updated in the database. Hopefully someone could help me, or tell me what I''m doing wrong. Thnx! Rgds, Eric Controller: album_controller.rb class AlbumController < ApplicationController def show_sort_album @photos =

ActiveRecord, spec''ing find has right :order parameter
I''m wanting to write a spec that a model is applying an :order option to a find call, but I don''t want to completely specify all of the find parameters. So I want to write something like this, say in a controller spec User.should_receive(:find).with(:all, hash_with_at_least(:order => ''user.name ASC'')) get ''index'', :sort =>

Autotest''ing specs on non-rails app
I''m having trouble using autotest with rspec on a non-rails project. my Rspec gem is version 1.0.8, ZenTest is 3.6.2 project structure $ ls * lib: parser.rb spec: parser_spec.rb autotest finds and runs the spec, but it won''t detect changes to lib/parser.rb I know it''s something stupid, but... help? -- Rick DeNatale My blog on Ruby

Problem with svn:eol-style
I've been using the mono-repo [ http://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html#for-developers-to-work-with-a-git-monorepo] and this morning I ran into an issue where I am unable to submit using the mono repo. I traced this down to the fact that many files explicitly have the property svn:eol-style set to native. On the git side, we have core.autocrlf=false, which means that git will checkout

Which rspec for rails 2.1RC1?
I''m working on porting our app. Do I need to upgrade rspec from 1.1.3? If so which version. BTW the installation doc at http://rspec.info/documentation/rails/install.html seems to be stuck in the pre-git days. -- Rick DeNatale My blog on Ruby http://talklikeaduck.denhaven2.com/

Substituting in a variable file name in a Windows system command
I am running R version 2.8.1 on Windows XP OS. I generate and write a .csv file from my R script. Then the following command works to upload it to a remote server using a windows batch file that carries out the ftp (among other things). > system("C:/upload_data/uploadq8.bat C:/upload_data/out_2009-02-26.csv", wait=FALSE) I want to set this up to run daily and create a unique

[attachment_fu] Allways triggering after_attachment_saved callback
Hi, I use attachment_fu in one of my apps and recently I''ve realized that udpates are taking too much time. After some debugging I''ve found that attachment_fu is calling after_attachment_saved callback no mather if attachemnt has changed or not. For example this code: after_attachment_saved do |photo| logger.info "after_attachment_saved" end # in console - always

attachment_fu, aws-s3 and backgroundrb
Hi, I''m using attachment_fu to store files on amazon s3. A background job is currently performing the upload and I''m having a strange issue where the very first file uploaded/created (attachment_fu uploads when creating the object) does not get uploaded. The db information is all all good. The model and attachment model associated with it are saved to the db, but the file is

Problems running features with Textmate Cucumber bundle
I finally plunked down for the beta RSpec bundle and I''m working through the initial example. Although I''m a fairly experienced RSpec user, I''m stlll learning new tricks. Anyway, I''m going though the mastermind example, and everything is going well, except that I decided to also try out the Textmate bundle for Cucumber. I decided to use Ben Mabey''s

Merb + attachment_fu
Merbists, I saw a note in the attachment_fu source code regarding supporting Merb[1] as well as a post on the Caboose forum[2]. Has anyone gotten Merb working with Rick Olson''s attachment_fu to handle uploads for a Rails app? I''ve hacked together something, but it''s not pretty. Besides fixing the TODO mentioned in the attachment_fu source code to support Merb

nil.symbolize_keys -- error with attachment_fu
I''ve spent at least 2 hours on this one problem. On my local machine in my controller I have this: def new @page_title = "New User" @user = User.new @photo = Photo.new end All is good. Now, on the remote server I get an error when accessing the ''new'' view. If I remove @photo = Photo.new from the controller then the error goes away. This same error

Attachment_fu - watermark tmp file before saved to S3
Hi there, I''d like to use RMagick to watermark an image in the tmp directory before Attachment_fu saves it to Amazon S3. I took a look at the callbacks available in attachment_fu. There''s an ''after_attachment_saved'' method but this would be too late, and a ''before_thumbnail_saved'' but this is no good because it''s for thumbnails. I

attachment_fu :partition => lamda {}
Hi - I am trying to dynamically create my partition folders via attachment_fu. I have read about a hack that allows you to do this on the attachment model: :partition => lambda {|a| a.article_id} Which passes the model''s object into the lambda and uses the ''article_id'' attribute as its directory name. However, this isn''t work for me. I think the lambda

attachment_fu stopped uploading files to S3
Hey everyone, I''ve been using attachment_fu to upload large media files to S3 with great success in my rails application. However, it has recently stopped uploading. My app appears to be uploading to somewhere, as my browser is displaying a ''sending request to..." status message for about the right length of time. The records are also created in my application database.
