Are these events normal?
We have dropped dovecot in place of UW-IMAP for about 40000 users and have solved our immediate problem: disk I/O overload, mainly from people doing POP3 and "leave mail on server". Thank you! Now i got loads of dovecot error messages in the logs and don't know if there is any significance. Here are a few examples: The most common event is: 2007-12-06 16:00:17.837654500 dovecot:

Browse list only shows Samba server
Hi all, I'm having a small problem with browsing. I've got a network full of Windows (2000 and XP) machines and I've installed a Samba server in it. The server is configured to be Domain Master Browser (DMB), Local Master Browser (LMB) and WINS server for a workgroup. The Win machines are configured to use the WINS server. Name resolution works perfectly, but browsing

Could someone be kind enough to clue me in as to how to set "Logon hours allowed?" I've only found one instance of even referencing this topic: http://www.webservertalk.com/message413870.html And even this guy got no answers. This is my workstation output: ================================================== H:\>net user testuser0 /DOMAIN The request will be processed at a

Client accessing Samba doesn't authenticate against Active Directory
When a Windows client attempts to browse shares on a Samba 3.0 server authenticating against a Windows 2003 Active Directory domain, it requests credentials. Typing in user name and password fails. Basically, I can't see even see the shares. If I give username/password for a user in smbpasswd, then I can browse the Samba server. Configuration info: ADS server: LICENSE ADS server IP:

Samba mapped drive to XP on logon
Hi- I'm having a recurring problem with Windows XP and a Samba share on logon. More specifically, I have a Samba (v 3.0.24 on Debian Etch) share with share permissions (not a domain) mapped to a drive in Windows XP Pro. Whenever someone logs onto an XP Pro computer in the network the drive isn't there. Here's an example: Say there's a document on the shared drive and a

Samba kerberos authentication issues with samba 3.0.7
Hello. I'm having difficulty running kerberized samba on my Linux box in my Windows ADS domain. Specifically, smbclient -k //server/share fails with a "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE" error message. I ran smbd with -d 3 debugging verbosity, and the following came out on stdout/stderr. I marked the interesting lines with ***'s: # smbd -i -d 3

No IN and OUT on ISDN line at the same time?
Hi, I like to forward an incoming call on an ISDN line to my mobile phone. Since ISDN offers two channels, I thought that this should work, but Asterisk tells me, that there is no channel available. There is no one else using this line, so guess I made a mistake in the configuration or it might not work for another reason. Here's the CLI output , the capi.conf and extensions.conf. 83086921 is

Counter Strike Source Won't load.
Okay so I have just installed Fedora 16 64-bit. Coming from a Ubuntu user I'm well aware that counter strike source works great under linux. I've been trying to get it to work but every time I try to load it, it loads for a moment and then crashes. I have the proprietary AMD ATI drivers for my ATI Radeon HD 5750. They seem to be rendering fine according to the debugger. I'm currently

solved: My 'net ads keytab' can't write to keytab in samba 3.0.6
Hello. I recompiled from the samba.org 3.0.7 SRPMs and it worked like a charm. I think the problem may have been that I was using RHEL3's 3.0.6 samba RPMs which depended on their own krb5-libs, and I used kerberos rpms that don't use e2fsprogs's libcom_err. Anyone privilaged enough to be using RHEL3 to integrate their linux machines into ADS may want to rebuild anything depending on
