[LLVMdev] named types with self-references
Hello, Can I define a named type ? %rt = {%rt} llvm-as can parse this definition without errors. JIT executes '%0 = alloca %rt' as allocating a memory with size 0. Because the llvm::TargetData::getTypeAllocSize accually returns 0 in this case. The function that calculates %rt's size is by the TargetData::getStructLayout, which calculates the a layout of %rt. It can only returns 0

Max filesystem size for ext3 using Adaptec RAID 5 on 64 bit CentOS
We are strategizing a set of backup servers and I have been trying to deduce wha the maximum size of each RAID 5 array should be to match the OS we are using. We are currently running CentOS 4.3 64 bit. We have planned a 2 TB RAID 5 array for testing but we will need to set up several larger ones for production. I have poked around and I see people mention limits like 2TB max file size and 32TB

rsync err. an other Broken pipe (32)
Hello, Since our server migration from OES1 (rsync-3.0.2-2.1) to OES2 (rsync-3.0.6-3.1), rsync backup do not work anymore. Here is some explanation : With a full verbose mode on the source server : rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 631 bytes to socket [sender]: Broken pipe (32) rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (786 bytes received so far) [sender] _exit_cleanup(code=12,

Max Packet Size in sshd server and negotiation with client
Hi, Forgive what might be a basic question. In channel open processing the server has a hardcoded maximum of 35000 bytes which corresponds to the recommended value in RFC4253. It appears that this is open to negotiation, and the RFC implies it might be desirable to support larger sizes in some channels. What determines what the absolute maximum is in openssh sshd? Presumably no client can

ext3 - max filesystem size
Hi all, I am working with a pc cluster, running redhat el 4, on opteron cpus. we have several bigger RAID systems locally attached to the fileservers; now I would like to create a big striped filesystem with around 15TB. ext3 unfortunatelly only supports filesystem size up to 8TB, do you have an idea if / when this border will be increased ? I already found some discussions on LKML about it ?

[patch] link-dest messages and max-size warnings (fwd)
rsync Folks, The following explanatory text is by me and the patches are by Rowan McKenzie for use by the Advanced Scientific Computing group at CSIRO. This patch builds upon the --link-dest patch by Bryant Hansen (Thanks heaps!). 1. The original patch provided an alternate behaviour for rsync when using the --link-dest option. When there are identical files in the source and link-dest areas,

When viewed on NT4.0 file sizes of samba share are incorrecly too large
Hi everyone, Here is my problem: All NT4.0 machines accessing a samba share located on a Solaris 2.6 server (running smbd version 2.0.4b) see the file sizes to be MUCH (terabytes) larger than they actually are. This is true both when looking through Explorer (file manager) and through MS-DOS prompt. On Windows98 machines the files are irrationally large via Explorer, but are the correct size

AW: Increase size of file-based diskimage (with MBR, partitions + fs)
Hey I had the same problem some time ago. But here is a solution how to do that, but it''s a bit tricky! REQUIREMENT: THE SYSTEM PARTITION ON THE IMAGE MUST BE THE FIRST PARTITION, AFTER THAT THERE MUST BE ONLY SWAP PARTITIONS!!!! This setup would work, there should be no risk at all: Partition 1 on the image: / Partition 2 on the image: swap space This setup WONT''T WORK, YOU

lilesystem size limit samba on 64bit 2.6 kernel vs. clients win2k/winxp ?
I had an incredibly hard time finding any documentation on filesystem size limits for samba on 64bit linux with 2.6 kernel exporting to 32bit windows 2003 and windows-xp by googling. The closest I could get to was that cifs filesystem size correlates to ntfs filesystem size and therefore there would be a 64TB limit. Are there additional limits within the software stack that I should be aware of?

Max Buffer Size vs Max Raw Buffer question...1GB tuning questions
I've been attempting to tune my samba server and workstations to work efficiently on a 1GB lan. So far I've increased the MTU on both the workstation and linux server to 9000. Then on the windows xp workstation, I've added these registry keys and rebooted: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters] "TcpWindowSize"=dword:3FFFF700

max limit of list size and vector size?
Hi, Is it possible for me to store a list of vectors of 1 million entries? like, cc<-list(c(1,2,........1million),c(1,2,........1million)....) also what is the length of the longest string in R? I keep getting info from a socket and keep pasting on a string...when will this start becoming a problem? [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
