Samba 3.0.9/10, missing 'net rap printq list' on HP-UX?
I have only this platform to try it on, but observe the following inconsistencies: (from the manpage for 'net'): RAP PRINTQ RAP PRINTQ LIST QUEUE_NAME Lists the specified print queue and print jobs on the server. If the QUEUE_NAME is omitted, all queues are listed. ...OK, so: [novosirj@njmsa ~]> /products/samba/bin/net rap printq list ljndemo No command: list

connecting printers via samba / cups (Windows XP clients / AD)
Hi, We have a setup like this: - W2003 AD PDC - Redhat Advanced Server 3.0 with Samba 3.0.0 / CUPS as a print server - Windows XP Professional clients Problem: Users can't connect printers, even administrators are out of luck, getting a "You are not allowed to connect printer" like messages. But there is one account that is allowed to connect printers, and after this account has

nut-scanner pthread issue
Hi, the terminating part of nut-scanner can crash in pthread code, because some threads won't exist. For example snmp part: ============================== if( allow_snmp && nutscan_avail_snmp ) { if( start_ip == NULL ) { printq(quiet,"No start IP, skipping SNMP\n"); } else { printq(quiet,"Scanning SNMP bus.\n"); #ifdef HAVE_PTHREAD if(

PS7 vs RH9 on Wine
Ok. I attached my current config file just in case. I set it to run as win2k and copied over the commdlg and COMDLG32 dlls from native windows 2000. (does it matter if they might be updated with service packs?) i then added "winspool" = "" in the dll overrides so that it wouldnt load the printspool.drv because for some reason when i started it would show the page setup dialog

CUPS printers not visible, strange behaviour
Hello all, I've done this before before so I'm a bit confused, but I've upgraded from 2.2 to 3.0.4 on a debian woody box (samba 3.0.4 from backports.org). I also have cups 1.1.20 backport as well. I've set up printing using cups (should be simple right?) but no printers appear when I browse the computer from a W2k machine. rpcclient -c "enumprinters" gives me "No

Publish printer into ADS
Hi, I'd like to publish the printer queues on a SAMBA server to a Win2k native mode ADS. Apparently, the command fails due to NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE--the output below is when run as root. # net ads printer publish "tall" -d 2 [2004/11/24 17:28:37, 2] lib/interface.c:add_interface(79) added interface ip=192.168.1.5 bcast=192.168.1.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 [2004/11/24

smbclient queue no jobs listed
When trying to get a listing of print jobs waiting on a windows print queue nothing is being returned. Any windows client can pull the job list without issue. This system has no problem sending print jobs to the queue. AIX 5.3 running Samba 3.5.2 connecting to Windows 2003 /opt/pware64/bin/smbclient "\\\\SERVERNAME\\PRINTER" -U domainAdmin -c "queue" /opt/pware64/bin/net

Printing on a Window Client from AIX
Hi all... First, thank you to Matt Chapman for pointing out why I could not connect to a non-domain participating machine. I needed to have a local account on that machine (it wasn't checking back with the domain controllers as I thought it would). I guess I'm going to have to start venturing out of the UNIX world and into the NT one. Scary :-) Either way, I now successfully am

printjob stays in windows queue after transfer failure
Hi Jerry et al, I'm using the 3.0.1 release in 'ADS' mode with ~450 print queues and ~150 users (getting migrated right now, will be ~3.000 in the end). In general everything works fine apart from some smaller driver configuration problems, the usual stuff. Though I see a lot of errors in the log files and it seems that sometimes the print job transfer fails (get 'zero nothing to

How to repair corrupt ntprinters.tdb?
Hi, we are using samba 3.0.24 as a printspooler for 80 network printers with a 500kB ntprinters.tdb for some years now. When we recently restarted samba we noticed that the ntprinters.tdb automatically shrinked to 24kB and printing was no longer possible. tdbdump of the original tdb-file is impossible too: "Failed to open ntprinters.tdb" The strange thing about this: we can solve

SysV style printer interface (Works atleast in SCO)
Samba comes with some sort of sysv stylish printer interface but it doesnt do much except puts the file queued to printspooler to smb printer. I've made few posts to differenet newsgroups and ran a quick search thru sambas mailing lists and didnt find anything *really* usefull. What i really needed was printer reseting and lp commandline parsing so that i could change to cpi and lpi

Do I need Winbind?
With a recent upgrade to Centos 4.6 my system's Samba was also upgraded to 3.0.25b. But now I get a series of auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_administrators(792) and auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_users(758) errors every day. As I understand it winbind allows users to be logged in as Linux users when they log in as Windows users. But since I don't want them to have access to the
