I'm having trouble authenticating users. WinXP will authenticate fine if accessed via hostname... //fileserver/share. Ip does not work.. ie //192.168.1.2/share. In the install process, I checked squid and winbind. Squid access to winbind fails because squid was not added to the wbpriv group. I suspect that winbind is being installed after squid. Hi, I am running a RH9.0 server, using samba 2.2.7a. I use winbind to authenticate pop3 clients (Courier IMAP through authpam, but I think that's irrelevant). Users are defined in a NT4 domain.
