Roaming Profiles Refuse to Load on MS Windows Clients
I am unable to get roaming profiles to work correctly when using a Samba 3.0.1 server with Windows 2000 and XP Pro clients. The MS Windows clients will only load the default profile but will stubbornly refuse to load their profile from the Samba server, even though when the user logs off, their profile is correctly written to /home/samba/profiles/username. I have even tried the following

Samba 3.3.15 Ignoring "Logon Path" and "Logon Home" to Disable Roaming Profiles

I would like to disable the roaming profiles capability but it appears that no matter what I said, it is being ignored by Samba. First is my relevant snippet for the Logon Path and Logon Home being empty as described in the documentation. Then, following that, is my entire smb.conf -- please let me

Hi everyone, I'm stuck on my dissertation which is due next week. Roaming Profile files remain locked after logout/shutdown
Our floater secretaries roam around the office constantly. Recently they've complained that they only get a temporary profile and a warning that their romaing profile is unavailable when they move from one station to another within a few minutes. Looking into this I found that files in their profile remain locked after they had logged out and even shut down the workstation they were on. I

Inherit permissions question
Hi guys, How are you ? We have a share named [userprofile] on our Samba-3.0.9 server where each users' profile is stored. Fairly often a user which is not the user that owns the profile i.e and admin, needs to copy files into other users' profile folders. The problem which then arises is that the user who owns the profile is unable to access the new files, due to the UNIX permissions
