fontconfig-2.1.93 considered more harmful
There is an ongoing thread "fontconfig-2.1.92 considered harmful" on -CURRENT.
Because I have not moved to -CURRENT, I post this to -STABLE.
Since I upgraded to fontconfig-2.1.93 (on Apr 14) a lot of ports start to
complain a lot of "Cannot fork: Resource temporarily unavailable" errors.
What resource ? I inserted top into my ports build script to notice that

Ports and WITH_LIBCPLUSPLUS
Hello,
I wanted to try the new c++ stuff, ie clang-3.2, libc++ and libcxxrt, so I
used poudriere to build a jail setup for that ( WITH_LIBCPLUSPLUS=yes in
src.conf, CXXFLAGS+=-stdlib=libc++ and libsupc++.so.1 libcxxrt.so.1 in
libmap.conf ), and started to build my normal set of packages ( see
desktop.list ). Please note that I also have WITH_NEW_XORG=yes and
WITH_KMS=yes, as well as using the

building NUT on Mac OS X Yosemite (website/documentation)
Sorry I ran ?make' command in nut-website/nut... (I still can?t understand why creating man page is so long, it is much more faster on ubuntu.)
When running ?make? in nut-website, same issue then described previously, even with Arno patch

[LLVMdev] r204593 breaks Asan tests on FreeBSD
Hello Alexey,
I just worked out the config for the FreeBSD 9.2 buildbot (follows
below). One important thing about this config is that the C++11 headers
are set up at the /usr/include/c++/v1 directory--it's where clang
expects them to be on FreeBSD, so no need for the "-I" options in the
CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS variable. Unfortunately, clang (both v3.3 used to be the
default compiler

Documentation people needed. FreeBSD/Security clue beneficial.
Hi All,
Ok after watching all the discussion about some security documentation
and teams I have come up with a few ideas that might help out some. I'm
willing to program an interface at the extremefreebsd.org site (yes I know
it's still new and under some work) that will allow the following:
1. A dedicated page for security related posts (articles, docs,
advisories, etc) at

Samba Configure problem
Really need some help here. Brand new FreeBSD5.2.1 install. Portage for samba 3
doesn't have ads as an option. Installed openldap22-server from ports. Installed krb5 from ports.
Downloaded 3.0.3 source. ./configure --with-ads. It errors out below. Anyone got a clue
as to how to get this to work?
checking whether to use smbwrapper... no
checking whether to use AFS clear-text auth... no

Logon Script to go down one folder?
Hi Folks,
Got Samba 3.0.7,1 running on FreeBSD--yippee!
One thing that I noticed is that when a Windows
user clicks on his folder named something like
'username', there are a bunch of files there
that he might 'accidently' delete:
.cshrc
.login
.login_conf
.mail_aliases
.mailrc
.profile
.rhosts
.shrc
Is there some way to automatically log on the
user to folder just below

Rsync 3.0.0pre8 and Mac OS X
Hi,
I tried Rsync 3.0.0pre8 on my mac running os X 10.5.
I was very pleased about the --iconv feature, as i have to sync some
LINUX-machines and I had really trouble with some filenames.
But I found one strange thing in connection with the mac.
First of all, the translation between the LINUX ISO-8859-15 and the
mac ut-8 works (nearly) perfect.
As I live in Germany, we have often filenames

build postfix rpm with mysql
hello list,
I'm trying to build a postfix rpm that has mysql support included.
I've found the line where I need to define mysql support but it seems
that I am being tripped up by some build dependencies:
[root at beta SPECS]# rpmbuild -ba postfix.spec
error: Failed build dependencies:
MySQL-shared is needed by postfix-2.9.1-1.rhel5.x86_64

build postfix spec w/ mysql
hello list!
I am attempting to build an rpm of postfix that includes support for mysql. I've done this before with earlier versions on postfix but I am staring at this spec file until my eyes bleed and I just don't see why when I build the spec with rpmbuild mysql support isn't there.
After I install the rpm I have a look at the modules as such:
ldd $(which postfix) | grep -i

2.0.5 smbmount chokes on chars needing shell-escape
Apologies if this has already been asked, but I couldn't find reference to it
anywhere.
Various windows versions allow characters in share names like " " and ")"
(space, close paren) that need to be escaped when passed to the shell.
However, it seems like the 2.0.5 smbmount calls smbmnt via the shell, and so
if you try to do something like:
smbmount
