Signing problem with trusted domain in 3.2.0
Hello I seem to be having signing problems with 3.2.0 I have 2 PDCs on 2 different sites (say A and B) both running 3.2.0, with the line server signing = auto in smb.conf. There is a one way trust (B trusting A) setup. While everything works correctly on both sites for local machines access to local shares (a site A user logged on a site A machine can perfectly access shares of site A PDC). The

server signing broken for non-kerberos auth
I'm working with the Solaris bundled version of samba 3.5.5 and having a problem with server signing. samba is configured into an active directory domain with security = ads. With signing enabled, connections from clients in the domain work fine. However, connections from clients not in the domain fail: ----- >net use /user:WIN\henson \\ike.unx.csupomona.edu\henson Enter the password for

Having a problem ...
Running a Windows 2000 domain; recently we've made some security changes to deny anonymous users from being able to get at our user list. It would appear that one of my Domain Controllers hadn't been rebooted after that security change, and now that it has been rebooted, I can't mount smb shares off of one of our if the security setting is in place. Urgent Problem with failed new User Login to computers on Samba AD Domain
Hi! I am using a very, very old Samba 4 AD server (Samba 4.0.0alpha14 (randomdata)) on a CentOS release 5.10 (Final) 64 bit server. I have not upgraded to the latest yet because I am not very certain what to do to upgrade it without losing my domain objects, and custom scripts. It has been working OK so far until today. (Any tips on how to upgrade without losing everything on it would be

Mounting Shares from a Windows Server 2003 DC
I know this question has been asked several times, and I appoligize for this being as long as it is, but I'm hoping someone may have it figured out by now. Here is the situation: I can mount a share from my Windows XP machine (RA), and from another Windows Server 2003 machine (MAAT). But not from my Windows Server 2003 domain controller (BASTET). I am running Samba 3.0.0 (standard RPM

Restoring domain Administrator

Terpstra textbook setup from chapter 9 By Example. nsswitch passwd and group = files ldap I deleted the root user from the ldap directory and tried to re-add using smbldap-useradd -u 0 root -P It complained that uid already existed. Must've gotten that from passwd

Access denied/WERR_ACCESS_DENIED on Printer Properties/rpcclient
hello to everyone, I'm experiencing an annyoing problem with a shared printer (managed by samba 3.0.20b-3.4 on Linux - SuSe). The problem is that I cannot modify any of the printer settings (e.g. Location, etc. and of course the driver to use). I've successfully uploaded the correct driver with the APW in the print$ share. The printer data/settings can't be modified by rpcclient too.

smbclient with Kerberos works, smbclient with NTLM does not?
Hello, I am investigating some strange authentication problems with our network. I am attempting to access a share on a DC with smbclient. If I authenticate with kerberos (kinit, then smbclient -k) then everything works fine. If, instead I use -U administrator -W DOMAIN, or just -U administrator, I get session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE This is samba 3.3.2. Here is the d5 output

hi to everyone, my name is Daniel and I'm currently trying to upload the driver for a printer in a company's network. The printer in question is a Kyocera Mita FS-C5016N, but actually that's not my problem. My problem is that I'm not able to execute RPC calls on my laptop,. I've successfully added the PostScript driver (with cupsaddsmb) to the Samba share "print$",
