acl support
Hi all,
I try to use rsync with the option --acl but it doesn`t work.
send_acl : sys_acl_get_file(haservices, SMB_ACL_TYPE_ACCESS): Operation not supported
Does my rsync-package don`t support acls or what is going wrong here?
How can I ensure that my rsync version is compiled with acl support?
info: rsync-2.6.2-8 (rpm from sles9)
cheers

Re-2: rid_idmap problem
That's good, but i believe that the "allow trusted domains" must be
set to "No" when using idmap_rid backend.
See:

copy of smbpasswd
Hi,
I have to move our old samba file server to a new machine.
The old samba server was a RedHat8 with samba 2.2.5. The new one is SLES9
with samba 3.0.2b-3.4 SuSE
Is there a way to re-use the old smbpasswd file?
In the log-files I can see that the authentication fails when I try to
access a shared folder.
A windows client keeps on asking the login and password.
Is it possible to re-use

Simple: change user passwort and password policy
Hi,
I seting up a samba4 server for testing. With the Remote Server Administration Tools I could manage to create users and policys.
When I try to change a password for my testusers, I get an emergency about the password policy. But in the domain group policy it isn't set?
I change the unset policy to deactivate but nothing changed.
Bye

Re-2: SOLVED - idmap_rid / roaming profile permissions /NTAUTHORITY\SYSTEM
because the same samba fileserver will also have the home directories
for linux users!
According to the smb.conf man pages, the value auto will corretcly apply
case insensitivity for windows users, and case sensitive for the linux
users.
Of course I don't know what will happen if a linux user creates two
files with the same name and different case, and then logs in from a

AW: Problems with machine accounts
Hi there,
after several (pretended successful) rejoins to the domain it does not work
and we decided to give up the domain login concept and simply map the
shares by a batch file now. We also had to disable the downloadable printer
driver option, because not all drivers work correctly :-(
