Samba & Terminal Services / Citrix
Hello! I have heard that there is a problem with using Samba along with Windows Terminal Services and that it's related to session IDs with multiple users coming from one server. I'm in the process of moving to Windows Server 2003 using Citrix and hoping to be able to revive our samba use. Has anyone had any success with using samba in a Terminal Server / Citrix environment? Thanks

samba + citrix + drive mapping
Hi, I am not sure if this question belongs here or on the Citrix forum. But for whatever it is worth ... I have a Samba3 server acting as PDC and several linux and windows clients. Also there is a Citrix server in another NT4 domain that our clients use to get common services. The issue I am seeing is that when users login to the windows clients (that have joined the Samba domain), their

Running R on Windows 2000 Terminal Services
Dear list, My employer uses a Windows 2000 Terminal Server-based system for its college-wide managed computer service - computers connect directly to the WTS servers for their sessions, using a Citrix ICA client. When I asked them to install R (Windows) on an older version of this service the IT guys installed it but pulled it for performance issues. I am trying to get them to try again but

Samba and Win2k Terminal Services
Hello, I have a Samba PDC running (using LDAP in the back-end). I'm able to join systems to the domain, and log in to each machine, at the console, as domain users. However, when I try to log into our Win2k Terminal Server (w/ Citrix Metaframe), the log in session crashes with winlogon.exe trying to reference memory. If I log into the machine via terminal server, as a local

Terminal Services and traffic control.
Hi everybody, I have a network that only uses terminal services. Look at the diagram. 20 machines running WinXP <-> LinuxFW-1 <-> 1Mbit link dedicated fiber link <–> LinuxFW-2 <–> Terminal Server I’d like to give the maximum priority for bandwidth to terminal services (port 3389). I’ve changed the CBQ script from LARTC site to suite my needs, but every time I

samba3 upgrade misery
Greetings, all We've been running samba2 for far too long - I'd just never found the time to upgrade, and it wasn't a priority since it WORKED. Our little Solaris9/SPARC64 box happily served our few gigs of files to 20 users, and played the part of a PDC. Then I upgraded CUPS, and discovered samba2 doesn't like cups-1.2 libs, and figured it was as good an excuse to make the

Integrating W2k3 Terminal Services w/Samba
I've got a Samba (3.0.14a) controlled domain that contains 1 Windows 2003 Server as a member server. I've been thinking about using Terminal Services from that machine to allow roaming users (ie, those outside of the office) to connect to our network and get work done. My only concern at this point how to deal with the lack of an Active Directory and still allow Terminal Services to

LINUX ONLY, CANNOT JOIN ANY SAMBA3 DOMAIN
I have been beating my head on this since the release of 3.0.4, or some time in May. I have 2 domains. 1 production, 1 test. My production domain is useing LDAP backend and has (too)many windows clients joined, XP , 2k , "98". And 2 other linux servers joined. One of these linux boxes I have replicated with my problematic box. The only thing diffrent about the replicated box is that its

Citrix Web Interface requires unix and windows passwords to match.
I am running Samba 3.026a, Solaris 9 PDC. Samba uses tdbsam password backend. Unix level accounts are NIS. I am not using password syncing or winbind on Samba, and I have not configured the Windows servers to use NIS through SFU or Cygwin. The "Windows" domain includes several Windows 2000/2003 member servers running Citrix Presentation Server (aka Metaframe.) When using the

Citrix Web Interface requires unix and windows passwords to match - never mind
I overlooked that I did have some Citrix Presentation Servers for Unix as well- so Citrix web interface would of course try to verify my password on those machines as well. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Gaiseric Vandal <gaiseric.vandal@gmail.com> Date: Nov 28, 2007 3:35 PM Subject: Citrix Web Interface requires unix and windows passwords to match. Citrix Help?
Hi all, Anybody has configured a Shorewall firewall to protect Citrix servers? Could you give us some clue on the rules you have to define? Citrix opens a connection from the inside to the outside from a different port (more or less like ftp) and seems not works. Samba as a PDC in a citrix environment
Hi all, this is a long time since my last post to this list and I have got a small question... (ofcource :) I'm going to introduce citrix into our office (two citrix XPa servers which are load balanced). According to the Citrix XPa docs it is not a good idea to use one of this servers as a PDC/BDC, I can imagine that (we wouldn`t want to give NT to much responsebilities). so my question

Citrix receiver and certificates on CentOS 7
Hi, I'm currently migrating a client's workstation from OpenSUSE Leap 15.0 to my personal blend of CentOS 7 and KDE. The client has some extra software installed on his machine, and one of these applications is causing me some troubles: Citrix Receiver. Here's my old blog article on installing Citrix Receiver on OpenSUSE : *
