Everyone happy?
There hasn't been any mailing list activity for almost a week. Is it that we are all happy and just waiting for meta-data journaling? -- Keith Barrett Red Hat HA Team

root-partition
Hi all, I've been working with the ext3-fs for several months (since 0.0.2c), and it works pretty fine for me, but I haven't found out, how I works to migrate my root-partition from ext2 to ext3. I tried it with the commands at the lilo-prompt, but it didn't work. I only received a kernel panic. Any ideas, how I can migrate to ext3 on my root-partition? tnx, Joachim -- Joachim

udial.wav problem
I was doing some testing with RC2 and I noticed that RC2 doesn't encode past 19kHz with this clip (-b256 and -b350). There are no problems with this clip like it was before, but this clip contains signal past 19kHz which is audible as a faint high-frequency hiss - and that hiss is gone in the encoded file since RC2 cuts off at 19kHz. I think that -b256 and -b350 should encode at least up to

Problems installing CentOS 8
I'm having a problem installing CentOS 8 from a USB drive. When the installer boots from the USB, it displays the language selection screen. After I select English and continue, the installer freezes. The USB drive flashes a couple times over the next minute or so, the stops. The mouse moves the cursor, but the installer is unresponsive to either selecting QUIT or HELP. I've

Beta3 impressions
I tested Vorbis encoder - beta3 version, and here are my thoughts: - In comparison to beta2, subtle high-frequency artifacts seem to be gone (though they were small in beta2). Good job there! :-) - Velvet.wav also sounds better, but transparent quality is reached at -b256+. - Horn.wav still sounds very sucky, mode -b256 gives ~100kbps (this is understandable because in this sample practically

[PATCH] s390: virtio: constify virtio_config_ops structures
Declare virtio_config_ops structure as const as it is only stored in the config field of a virtio_device structure. This field is of type const, so virtio_config_ops structures having this property can be declared const. Done using Coccinelle: @r1 disable optional_qualifier@ identifier i; position p; @@ static struct virtio_config_ops i at p={...}; @ok1@ identifier r1.i; position p; struct

Easier OggDrop version
Hi. I think that the vorbis team should use this version of OggDrop RC3 as the official OggDrop RC3, because the menu interface is easier to use (& you can see what kind of mode you have chosen). http://www.inf.ufpr.br/~rja00/BQoggdropC1.zip See this thread for more info: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=4683 <p>I only have one problem now: what

update to earlier error msg help
Wowzer, so I have *everything* working now... tcp/ip, and the game itself, with the exception of keyboard, and maybe sound. Actually in the log, I don't see any mention of the errors for no keyboard. Anyone have any ideas, on how to turn on the keyboad, er make wine recognize it? Thanks, -tm

Beta4 artifact/bug in the bass area
Hi! Today, I found an encoding bug with a new tune by me. http://www.uni-karlsruhe.de/~us87/ogg/vorbis_bassrumble_demo.rar (2.1MB) contains the original .WAV in 16bit/44.1kHz and an .OGG encoded at 350kbit/s. I found the bug when listening to the 128kbit/s version, but encoding it with that high bitrate didn't change a thing. The deep bassdrum contains a rumbling, knocking sound (the first

Render partial yields "dynamic constant assignment"
I''m getting a syntax error when rendering a partial. This is a simple html partial with one instance variable inside it. Rendering as a "template" instead of as a partial works just fine. The error occurs 3 lines after the last line of HTML code in the partial. There is no line 72! Here is the error: SyntaxError in Building_blocks#preview Showing

Rsync problem
Hey All, I am running rsync version 2.5.5 protocol version 26 on my remote machine (Redhat 8 def. install) and rsync version 2.5.6 protocol version 26 on my local machine (Redhat 7.2, 2.4.17 kernel instead of Redhat one with acl patches). I can copy files between these two machines (using ssh/scp) fine. When i run the command: rsync -rptz --delete --stats --include="*.ini"
