We have samba 3.0.2a running on Aix 5.1.
We will be going to AIX 5.2. Trying to find out if Samba 3.0.2a is

Thank You!

SCO & R
I apologize if this has been addressed before;
recently
I read an article in Forbes which discussed how SCO
was going after companies that have been using Linux.
The article made the point that the ideas behind GPL
are under attack precisely because no one is making
sure
that the code being put into the freely avail.

isn't owned by someone else.
Here's my question: Is R

Question with DNAT
Hi All
I have had a look through the documentation but I can''t see how to
do this.
I want to setup DNAT for an incoming connection. The connection must
be forwarded to a server on a masqueraded server behind the
firewall. The tricky part is I need to forward to a different port
to the one that the request arrived on.
I can do this:
firewall.public.ip:5800 ->

need help with renaming a variable
Hello.
I am new to R, so my question/problem might be very basic, but I cannot
figure out how to solve it.
So, I would really appreciate your help.
I would like to rename a variable in a very large file (181GB) called
"2013.xdf" that is saved on my external hard drive.
I tried running the following code to rename variable # 2 in the file and
save this change, which produced some

Wild cards in "shorewall add" command
Hi
I am looking at converting a Linux terminal server box to iptables
using Shorewall 2.0. (At the moment it uses ipchains).
The server currently has scripts which are called as each user logs
in which run a series of "ipchains" commands to set the access
rights for that user (and again to cancel them when the user logs
out). My plan is to replace these scripts with ones that call

1.0.rc28 / v1.0 plans
I'll probably release 1.0.rc28 in a few days. Would be nice to get some
testing for it first. http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz
contains pretty much what it's supposed to be.
I've now replied to all the mails I was planning on replying, excluding
the few patches that are v1.1 material. If you think I forgot to reply
to some mail, please resend it.

dovecot-lda and vpopmail
I'm setting up a new box with Dovecot 1.0 beta1 and vpopmail. Normal
operations works like a charm, i.e. vpopmail virtual can log in
sucessfully using TLS.
However, when trying to test dovecot-lda out of CVS, it is not locating
the user:
> *** Starting dovecot-imapd service...
> dovecot: Info: Dovecot v1.0.beta1 starting up
> dovecot: Info: auth(default): master in: USER 1

Deliverm, vpopmail, and valias
I'm in the final stages of testing my e-mail server to come and I seem
to have hit a roadblock.
One option of current vpopmail is to store all aliases in a valias
table, that looks like this:
+-------------+----------+------+-----+---------+-------+
| Field | Type | Null | Key | Default | Extra |
+-------------+----------+------+-----+---------+-------+
| alias | char(32) |

xfig device - depth
Hi,
I hope this is the right list for my posting, since I've never posted
to any R list before.
I'm quite extensively using the xfig graphics device and as far as I
figured out this
device writes all the objects into xfig layer 100 (based on what I saw
in the devPS.c
file -if this is the file to output to xfig format - depth 100 is
hardcoded). Are the any
plans to implement xfig layer

Lost messages with Mozilla and dovecot 0.99.x
I have just moved our corporate e-mail over to qmail/dovecot and am very
happy with the performance. However, I have had two reports of messages
going missing which may or may not be directly related to Dovecot.
I was able to observe this in action this morning:
1) I got the user out of their e-mail client (Mozilla 1.7.2) and forced
an email to be delivered. It showed up in Maildir/new.

Is anyone successfully using acts_as_ferret with Ferret 0.11.4?
Hi all,
I upgraded from Ferret 0.11.3 to Ferret 0.11.4 because I was getting
intermittent segfaults that seemed to be due to a bug which was fixed
(changeset 749).
Unfortunately, 0.11.4 + acts_as_ferret seems to be a bad combination. I''m
getting the some "fs_store/File Not Found Error occured at <except.c>:117"
which was reported in the "Constant 0.11.4

Speed up large maildirs
Hi,
I'm very fond of maildirs, they are simple, I like that.
But I've never really understood the significance of maildir/new/. The only use I can see is
that (for example in the case of dovecot), you'd move a message from new to cur and then
update the index-file, that's it.
So to make put it more direct, you'd know when and with what to update the index-file, based

Filtering out low scoring matches with acts_as_ferret (fwd)
Hi all,
I''m using fuzzy~ queries which can return very poor matches. What is the
most elegant way to filter out scores below some threshold? I know that I
can do my own thing with find_id_by_contents but I''d like to filter out
less relevant results at a lower level so that I can use :limit/:offset
for pagination and all that.
What am I missing?
Thanks,

Ampersand in Folder names causing folders to disappear?
Hi All,
Dovecot 1.0.rc7
Not sure if this is a problem with Outlook, or with Dovecot, or to do
with encoding in Linux.
Whenever a user enters an ampersand into an IMAP folder name, it
dissapears from outlook. These folders appear on the ext3 filesystem as
&- for example

Replacing qmail + vpopmail with: sendmail + dovecot
Hi,
I wonder if it posible to replace qmail + vpopmail with sendmail + dovecot?
The idea is like this:
- use sendmail + milter API to filter spam/virus and deliver the email to
the dovevot MDA (LDA)
- dovecot should save the email to the directory as specified in the
vpopmail DB
- maintain the vpopmail BD (users + passwd)
- use dovecot pop3/imap for the clients
- use sendmail again to receive
