WBC_ERR_DOMAIN_NOT_FOUND error with RFC2307
I am still trying to configure Samba to authenticate users against
ActiveDirectory, but lookup uid and gids against a stand-alone OpenLDAP
server. Related to a previous recommendation, I found the idmap_rfc2307
capability, which seems likely exactly what I what.
Unfortunately, it does not seem to work. Users are not permitted to access
shares for which they are in the group.

failed to add domain dn= sambaDomainName
Hi,
I'm trying to configure my samba server to work with the ldap system on the
same host. The samba domain name is LDAP, but when I try to start samba I
cannot and in the log I found:

[samba4] How to use my ldap users in sam.ldb?
Hi
I successfully compiled samba4 on my ubuntu.
Actually, most our Linux servers are using en openldap base to authenticate.
All the samba 3 servers use this openldap base
/passdb backend = ldapsam:ldaps://ldap.intra.labo.fr// (in the smb.conf)
I tried to migrate the users account of my openldap database to internal
samba4 ldap database.
For this I used the myldap-pub.py script with this

Help with ldap configuration please
This is on RHE4, I am getting an invalid DN error. Is there a good resource
site for this type of configuration issue? There is a lot of info that comes
up through google but I am having no luck finding anything relevant (or that
seems relevant to me). Thank you in advance and sorry about the newbie
question.

need recipe for samba to do user authentication against a centos 5.5 openldap server (NO IDMAPS! NO PDC!)
Hi all,
Please help Ive been wasting days at this...
I am not trying to create a PDC, I am not joining an active directory, I am
not needing samba schema in my openldap (or do I?), I am not trying to use
winbind and idmaps for translations from SID to UID/GID, I just want my
samba server which shares linux home directories to authenticate
user+password against my existing linux based openldap

Adding Samba Domain SIDs...
Our school district is moving to an LDAP database for mail and domain
authentication. We are seeing some errors in our logs we don't know how
to resolve and need your help. First, let me give a run down of what we
have and what we are using:
RedHat 9.0
Samba 3.02 Pre 1
OpenLdap 2.1.22-3
Smbldaptools v. 0.83
We have a main campus where our Master LDAP database is located. The

security = domain -- samba adds its netbios name as samba domain to LDAP
Hi!
I am running a RedHat Cluster with Samba shares that can failover to
other nodes.
On every node there is one Samba instance running permanently and acting
as BDC (BDC instance) for my Samba domain, that binds to the physical
network interfaces of the node.
When starting a samba resource on a cluster node, I mount the
corresponding file system from SAN on that node and start another

Samba 3.5 to 3.6
Reading :
http://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba_3.6_Features_added/changed
it seems there are options not to check having consistant SIDs.
Otherwise, I used the solution with :
net setlocalsid
and it worked for me.

SAMBA4 - Trusted relationship lost every Weeks
Hi,
Here is our smb.conf.
Please note that this server uses nss resolution for DOMAIN_B users and
idmap_ldap backend to resolve DOMAIN_A users.
Trusted relationship between works well for other services between those
two domains. Only samba4 fileserver needs to rejoin DOMAIN_A domain (AD
2008 server) every week.
