Winxp / LDAP No account in domain
Can anyone help - this is driving me up the wall.
I keep getting this error from my LDAP enabled BDC :
[2004/08/16 15:38:12, 0] rpc_server/srv_netlog_nt.c:get_md4pw(218)
get_md4pw: Workstation ALDEBURGH$: no account in domain
It is the same for all workstations. I have made sure the Sign Or Seal
reg hack is in place. The same client system is OK when not using LDAP
as a password backend.

after installing 3.0.6 I have an issue.
Most applications I have work fine, only three are suspect.

tseries 0.7-0 with R 1.2.1 dumps core (PR#827)
Dear Dr. Trapletti,
I am trying to use your tseries 0.7-0 package with R 1.2.1
(the latest version) under redhat linux 6.2, but the command
library(tseries)
causes R dump to core with a segmentation fault.
Do you have any suggestions how to fix this?
Thank you,
Keith

Sometime after I installed samba and got everything working, one of my
colleagues changed the IP address on the box I did the install on. So
after I got passed all the other issues that plaqued me after moving
over to fedora 11, I discovered that I could not added Win clients to
the domain.

LINUX BASED CLIENT UNABLE TO JOIN LINUX PDC with LDAP
Hello.
I have some problems, with a new samba configuration.
I want to setup a SAMBA PDC with ldap authentification, following an HOWTO found on the web.
I used this howto with success on OPENSUSE 10.1 with a X86 processor and I have used it a lot of time (windows 2000 clients).
Now I use OPENSUSE 11.3.
And I test this new configuration with two new PC running X64 processor running linux.

This should just be the short hostname not the fqdn

machine account not accessible
Hi,
I'm setting up a PDC, but joining the clients (w2k, nt4) fails.
I use this in smb.conf:
add user script = add user script = /usr/sbin/useradd -d /dev/null -g 100 -s /bin/false -M %u
Just using the script I get the error: "no account in domain" under
linux. Useradd itself works but it seems to fail for samba.
All clients originally used a nt4 PDC. Now this nt4 PDC must be

Machine Login
Hi all,
In my system, samba (3.0.34) is configured as PDC with an LDAP backend and
has some user and machine accounts, and it all works fine. But recently I've
found out that if I remove one machine account from the LDAP server user
logins into the domain from that machine are still possible, even if the
machine login verification fails:

Cannot join server to Samba4 NT4 domain
I have a Samba 4 NT4 PDC (Version 4.1.17-Debian) with openLDAP.
I would like to add another server, and have it authenticate users against openLDAP.
I thought I had to add the new server to the domain with "net rpc join", but that
seems to think I want to join an AD domain, and fails:
# net rpc join -U root%mypassword

Adding a machine acount
Hi,
I migrated from an MS NT Domain to a samba3 domain some time back. I
forgot about a couple of machines and am trying to add them. These are
Buffalo NAS workstations so are basically *nix machines with a web
interface. I have not had to add any machines to the domain from the
samba PDC before. This is what I've done. I tried to add the machine
using it's web interface but it failed and
