This list elicits spam
Unrelated to previous email: every time I send an email to this list I get
a response such as:

I wonder if others have received such emails and, if so, any suggestions
how to tackle the spam?

Source RPM please
Hi,
I''m a long ext3 user (rpmfind.net). I propagated ext3 on some of our
server box (W3C webservers are ext3 based too now).
I might be tempted of testing out your kernel RPMs but unavailability
or the source RPM and the SMP version are definite showstoppers. Please
provide them. In the meantime I will stick to my own set of kernel ext3
RPMs at ftp://rpmfind.net/pub/veillard/ext3/

Random Forests regression by strata
Hello,
I'm trying to sample in Random Forests by a factor, but it is a regression problem and I can't figure out how to do this (I can only see how to sample by strata in classification).
Thanks

Advice on article about installing R on Linux
Dear list,
I've drafted an article on installing geographic R packages on Linux
computers and would appreciate any feedback. Is the following text correct,
useful and future-proof?:
R?s spatial packages can be installed from source on recent (since Ubuntu
19.04) versions of this popular operating system, once the appropriate
repository has been set-up, meaning faster install times (only a

Advice on upgrading to 3.5.0
I'd be interested to hear views on how and when Ubuntu users should upgrade
to R 3.5.0.
I made the upgrade a few days ago but reverted because of issues installing
packages such as rJava, which I installed on the system with r-cran-rjava.
Also any advice on how to do a clean uninstall of the previous version
before making the leap greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

LF not found where expected
I'm using Dovecot 0.99.13 on a fedora core 3 server.
I keep getting these errors from time to time.
There user ends up retrieving no mail (but no error in their client, be it web mail or pop3 client)
What usually fixes it is this procedure:
Cp mbox file to mbox_
Remove original mbox
Send a test message to recreate mbox.
Cat mbox_ >> mbox
Problem solved!
Can anybody tell me what causes

Unsolicited oplock breaks
Dear All,
we've been having some intermittent problems with students who's home directories are on a
Sun E450 running Samba 2.0.6. I'm not totally convinced that the problem is caused by the
server, but may be the network. However, I've had a look at the log.smb file and I'm seeing some
error messages that I've not come across before:

Asterisk 13 MWI
I am still a little confused about how to activate MWI with PJSIP
on Asterisk 13.9.1. I use realtime for configuration. So far I have
tried setting both the mailboxes field on ps_endpoints and the mailboxes
field in ps_aors but I cannot get the indicator lamp to blink on any of
my phones (Digium, Aastra and Yealink). I have tried just the number of
the mailbox and also adding the context.

Advice on upgrading to 3.5.0
Many thanks Dirk, kind-of makes sense and I think my 'hold your horses'
attitude is probably safest for now.
Two follow-up questions:
- Roughly how long will it be until "everything has been rebuilt"?
- Could this seemingly new project help manage external deps:

XMPP sendtodialplan
I've been working on an interactive XMPP interface so users at my office can interact with the timeclock and queues by XMPP (in addition to IVR menu, which has been running just fine for quite a while before the XMPP interface). I'm using sendtodialplan=yes to handling the incoming unsolicited messages, and typically will have at least one point of interaction where Asterisk requests

remove my email address
I am starting to receive a lot of unsolicited email at work. I did a web
search on my name to see if my email address is accessible on any web sites.
I got a hit on this site
http://samba.cadcamlab.org/lists/samba/Dec2000/00720.html
which is a message I sent to your list server a couple of years ago. Please
remove my email address from the web page. Thanks.

Receiving and processing unsolicited XMPP messages with Asterisk 11
I'm trying to set up a way that our users can send an XMPP message to Asterisk (unsolicited) to request information, such as voicemail status or the like. No matter what I set for the dialplan, I'm only seeing Asterisk execute the s,1 priority in the context defined in xmpp.conf for incoming messages, and then the "call" hangs up without executing further instructions. Hello,
with qualify_frequency=0 I can't receive calls from others endpoints.
Other strange think is if I set mailboxes parameter on the console, when
the endpoint registering, i can see:

mips64el stat/time/…? problem
Hi Ben,

sorry for the delay. I was able to test this on eller today.
To reproduce the issue, this was needed, because the value
read was a nanosecond field and so the test didn?t always fail:
(sid_mips64el-dchroot)tg at eller:~$ while sleep 0.1; do :>b; ./mksh -c 'test a -nt
