Why warning: "Server's Role (logon server) NOT ADVISED with domain-level security"
When using "smbmount" (but not mount.cifs), I get the warning
message:
Server's Role (logon server) NOT ADVISED with domain-level security
This has appeared after I added "security=domain" back into
my smb.conf file (seems I or an upgrade deleted it last December).
Why is it "not advised" to use the same machine for logon server
and domain security?
Is it just

Passing parameters for the server's hostname/ip to the client?
Hey everyone --
Is there a way to refer to the server with the tftpboot images so that
when a client is booting diskless, it can mount an nfs directory to that
tftp server?
That is to say that I have a tftp server on 192.168.0.244. The usr
directory is set to be shared amoung the diskless clients via nfs. In the
root image, I have /etc/fstab set to something like:

List Samba 4 shares using server's IP AND Kerberos authentication
I am able to list the Samba 4.0.3 shares by using
"*smbclient -L myhostname -k*" command.
However I am unable to do the same by using
"*smbclient -L 192.168.1.2 -k*"
and I get the "session setup failed: NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE" error.
Nevertheless it does work when I try to do the same by using the IP and
a username like this:
"*smbclient -L 192.168.1.2 -U

Accessing the host server's file system from a guest OS
Is there no way in which one can access the host's filesystem from within a
guest OS.
Libvirt's virt-manager GUI seems to indicate that there is, by virtue of
the FileSystem Passthrough option as shown below
[image: Inline image 1]
The scenario I typically have is a Linux Server on a ext4 file system, with
a Windows 7 Guest OS running a KVM machine.

Re: VGA as vfio-pci and vnc server's blank/black display
in case I wasn't clear I'll only add that that "Standard
VGA" in guest gets exclaimed ONLY when that second VGA is
passed through.
Otherwise it works and VNC display works too.

How to create a secret code to use my IAX server's long distance plan from a public phone for instance
Hi,
I have an IAX server (asterisk@home) with a FXO card.
I have a trunk connected to a voip provide, asteriskout.
When I call my server from a public phone, I want to route this call
to the asteriskOUT trunk so that I can make long distance calls.
How can I setup a secret password in the extension.conf, so that my
asterisk server can allow me to make long distance call ?
Thanks a lot,

How could I set a VNC server's screen size?
Dear Libvirt,
How could I set a VNC server’s screen size? I access my virtual machine via NoVNC from web browser, but the desktop’s size is different based on OS. For example, A RHEL5’s screen is about half of RHEL7’s. But it has same graphics configuration. I read the online doc, but I don’t find any to set this. So could you help me? Thanks for your reply.
Best Regards,
Clark Liu

LDAP Server's dns A records...
Using the FQDN of the domain should do exactly that: return all IPs of
the domain in a round-robin fashion.

VGA as vfio-pci and vnc server's blank/black display
hi,
I'm having a Radeon as vfio-pci, which seems to work
perfectly fine, but...
Qemu's model type='vga' gets "exlaimed" in win2k8's Device
Manager with:
"
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported
problems. (Code 43)
"
Now, that does not bother me that much as all I need on
regular basis is RDP but VNC connection gets me nowhere.
