Linking against a specific Berkeley DB install
I sent this question to the OpenLDAP list yesterday, but I still haven't seen the message come across the list. I am asking here in the hopes of getting a faster response. I am trying to compile OpenLDAP 2.3.11 from source on CentOS4. I have the rpm for db4-4.2.52-7.1 installed and also a source build of BerkeleyDB in /usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.4. How do I get OpenLDAP to link with the bdb

/lib/tls.disabled or xen-friendly glibc?
Hi, until now I have run Xen with /lib/tls out of the way for both dom0 and domU''s, but now I''m trying to install OpenLDAP in a domU, which requires TLS as default. So now I have at least three options ahead of me: 1. mv /lib/tls.disabled back to /lib/tls and accept the performance penalty (is there any documentation on how heavy this penalty is?) 2. Compile OpenLDAP

Hello, I've a Debian 3.1 box with Samba 3.0.9 acting as a PDC with OpenLDAP 2.1.30, smbldap-tools 0.8.5, libnss-ldap version 220-1. The problem is this: Yesterday suddenly a user from a workstation already joined to the domain could not log on any more. The log message was: Workstation HPDX02$: no account in domain Digging into LDAP I've found that the entry in the LDAP DB exists (I

Request to update slapd.conf and OpenLDAP info for Samba-Guide/happy.html
Dear Team, The OpenLDAP stuff on this page: http://us4.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-Guide/happy.html is not the preferred backend, i.e. ldbm, it really, really needs to be bdb. See: http://www.openldap.org/faq/index.cgi?_highlightWords=bdb%20ldbm&file=1085 "ldbm uses a neutral storage interface which in principle could wrap dbm, ndbm, gdbm or sleepycat as underlying storage;

can''t understand strange PRIO behaviour
Hello everybody, sorry for bothering you, but after some hours, I''m stuck. I''m living in a student''s foundation where I want to connect lots of people to a tiny DSL link. We have exactly four types of traffic. We want a really hard PRIO solution (as I promised to someone that group X will only use the link capacity which isn''t used by group Y). I could make a

Failing to add XP SP3 client to Samba domain
Hi, I'm running samba 3.2.5 as a domain controller on a Debian Lenny server with authentication data stored in a local openldap instance. The server has been running smoothly since I originally set it up on Sarge. I upgraded to Etch a while back and then to Lenny about a month ago. I'm trying to add a new Windows XP SP3 client to the domain for the first time since the latest upgrade

Recover rpm DB corrupted by disk failure?
Over the weekend my workstation (still on CentOS 3) started showing SMART errors, so we shut it down and moved everything onto a new drive. On reboot, the RPM database reports as corrupted and "rpm --rebuilddb" segmentation faults. Is there any reasonable way to recover from this, short of a complete reinstall? The machine is otherwise up though it''s quite likely some files

OpenLDAP,heimdal kerberos,sasl, wich order?
Hi! I have been reading for about two weeks (maybe I'm reading on the wrong places). I have found as many documents as one could expect describind how to build a LDAPv3 server, or how to build samba with ldap. This far, I have failed, and have a BIG confution in the order in wich the things should go: In one document, they recommend this: samba -> ldap -> sasl -> kerberos
