Asterisk - WiMax Island Use
Hello All, Please advise kindly about the following arrangement: I need to have Asterisk working with company's mobiles via company's WiMax mobile network. Both Asterisk and WiMax can work in an island mode (i.e. not necessarily connected, even preferably not connected to any other communication network like mobile operator, Intranet or Internet). The result desired should be

MEMDISK issues and Dell OptiPlex and Latitude systems
Hello all. Again I call upon the greats of this mailing list to help me with an issue related to MEMDISK - notably when paired with various Dell OptiPlex and Latitude systems. The issue presented itself sometime ago and I best dealt with it by remaining with version 3.83 of the SYSLINUX package. But valuing the improved changes fostered by newer versions, I would prefer to move forward with

Indexless interpolation search seeking code
http://www.xiph.org/ogg/doc/oggstream.html says: "An index is only marginally useful in Ogg for the complexity added; it adds no new functionality and seldom improves performance noticeably. Empirical testing shows that indexless interpolation search does not require many more seeks in practice than using an index would." I am keen to see seeking code which is almost as fast as

Asterisk Jobs
I'm curious why the number of jobs out there requiring Asterisk seems to be pretty low. After looking around dice, monster, careerbuilder etc, I was surprised to find no more than 3-4 employment opportunities with Asterisk throughout the US. Is it really that low? There seems to be a job of opportunities for Cisco and other vendors solutions (duh... GUI's are good... duh). I wonder if

Media Player Buffering Issue
I just noticed something. I'm using simplecast as my encoder. If I put the first Mp3 option which is listed Mp3/Mp3Pro when I play the stream in Media Player it just buffers and buffers and doesn't play. If I select the option Mp3 (ACM) Media Player works. Why would this be? -=-=-=-=-=-=-=Ottawa Valley Weather-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Weather @ 12:08am - Temp:

Forums, Lists and Spam
Even with forums spam can happen. The most likely cause of spam is people putting there email address in the body of the message either telling someone to email them or in a signature line. As for spamming the icecast mailing list users, if you goto http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/icecast/ you will see the archives for the list and the software they use edits email addresses so they can't be
