Hello, Has anybody experienced any problems with php3+php4 combo in systems newer than 4.6-STABLE (as of June-Aug 2002)? Briefly, the problem looks very similar to what is stated in the following reports: http://groups.google.com/groups?q=%22php3+kills+apache%22&hl=ru&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&selm=wqz8yrfzbug.wl%40hurt.theclones.net&rnum=1

[LLVMdev] LLVM and OpenC++
Hi OpenC++ developers, IMHO, the LLVM project (http://llvm.cs.uiuc.edu/) could give a second breath to OpenC++ project. Indeed, the implementations of reflection become quite restricted if the just-in-time (JIT) compiling is not available. Am i wrong? --- Valery A.Khamenya

DRAC support?
Hi, I was hoping someone had a quick and dirty (is there any other kind) of patch for DRAC support for dovecot. This daemon is very slick, and I wish to replace my complex courier-imap setup. Hardware - no way -Re: Crashes maybe due to: "error writing 4 unbuffered bytes"
Dear JW, I spent hours checking and upgrading my hardware. There is nothing wrong with it. It is a 'mature' Pentium-II 400MHz system that has been running my servers WITHOUT ANY CRASHES for nearly 2 years now 24/7 Listen to me: "The crashes are dues to rsync" There is an IDENTICAL report from a totally different source at

time server directive and synchronizing Win XP clients
Hi all! I have configured a Samba PDC (3.0.7) on a Fedora Core 2 machine with LDAP authentication (conform http://samba.idealx.org/smbldap-howto.en.html). I have about 180 Windows XP Pro clients using this PDC to log onto the domain, which works great! However I seem to have trouble synchronizing the time on the clients to the time on the server. The users (in group Domain Users) do not have

Hello, I am having a problem with the second-generation of a custom isolinux boot CD for one of the PCs here in the lab. We have three types of PC here - two Dells and one from SGI (a SGI 230). The previous version of the custom bootcd still works on all three platforms. The new version only works on the Dells. It fails on only the SGIs with:

htaccess authentication asks for MySQL table test.user_info
Hello. For users interested in the MySQL authentication problem for SSL pages, there is another way to prevent mod_auth_mysql to do this mySQL authentication. This has been reported by Brent: In the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file, add the directive: <Directory xxxxxx/ AuthMySQLEnable off AllowOverride All </Directory> You can also add it to your .htaccess file. Thanks

I'm running into a 2gig file limit when copying files from a linux machine running smbmount 3.0.2a-Debian and kernel 2.4.23 connecting to another debian machine running smbd 3.0.2a-Debian with the stock 2.4.18-bf2.4 kernel that comes with debian stable (though the machine has been upgraded to sid). If I run this on the client side dd if=/dev/zero of=test.junk bs=1k it eventually fails at

Three interfaces firewall - performances problem
Hello, I''ve shorewall running a three interfaces firewall (net, loc, dmz) and I''ve got performances problems. My measured bandwidth from internet is up to 6.8 Mb/s, and I "only" get 3.5Mb/s on my LAN and 5Mb/s on my dmz. I checked with iperf, and all my interfaces (eth0, eth1, eth2) can actually work at 10 Mb/s. I tried disabling all the rules from loc to net

WHAT I HAVE: I've inherited a production debian system. uname reveals kernel 2.4.18-bf2.4. I am now running samba 3.0.14a with a completely "stock from source" install (as part of my troubleshooting activities). The machine acts as a PDC for win2k clients. It uses smbpasswd for the password back end. There are approx 20 users. It also serves dhcp, ntp, mysql and apache. WHAT I

e2fsck running for hours, printing out lists of numbers -- should I stop it?
I recently rebooted one of my machines and was greeted with a message about one of my ext3 partitions having some errors. I dutifully started e2fsck on the partition, but after a few hours of some useful messages about fixing inodes, it then started printing out lists of ascending numbers which I'm not sure how to interpret. The first time I noticed this, these numbers were in the 4000000
