Adding zvols to a DomU
I''m trying to add extra zvols to a Solaris10 DomU, sv_113 Dom0 I can use virsh attach-disk <name> <zvol> hdb --device phy to attach the zvol as c0d1. Replacing hdb by hdd gives me c1d1 but then that is it. Being able to attach several more zvols would be nice but even being able to get at c1d0 would be useful Am I missing something or can I only attach to hda/hdb/hdd?

Mounting directories below share level
>From my investigations, and searching the archives, it seems that smbfs can only mount shares, and not directories under the share i.e. smbmount //host/share /mnt works smbmount //host/share/directory /mnt doesn't work Our W2K3 server has user home directories in a tree where there are no user rights to the next node up the tree (level1), which is the directory on the share, i.e.

Dom0 cache-ing MAC addresses?
I created a DomU with a dedicated network connection script path=''/usr/lib/xen/scripts/vif-dedicated'' Having run the virtual machine I now destroy the domain, undefine it, change the script to script path=''/usr/lib/xen/scripts/vif-vnic'' define the domain and try to start it. This fails. If I change the assigned MAC address the newly defined virtual

We are running 4 Solaris10u7 DomUs on a b113 Dom0 I''d like to upgrade the Dom0 to b122 but not rebuild the DomUs. Below is a typical DomU xml dump. Is there anything obvious that will bite me in upgrading from 113 to 122? Thanks John virsh # dumpxml achilles2 <domain type=''xen'' id=''1''> <name>achilles2</name>

Active Directory LDAP authentication fails after a time
Hi - I've got Dovecot version 1.0.7 running on a CentOS 5.2 machine. It's serving pop, imap and imaps and authenticating against an Active Directory machine. This all works fine at first, but after about two weeks or so, dovecot's authentication against AD starts to fail. All of dovecot's authentication attempts time out. I also have postfix on the same machine authenticating

LDAP with Active Directory
Hello, I have successfully used dovecot 1.0 Beta 9 to do SASL authentication for postfix using the unix passwd/shadow files. I need to authenticate with a windows 2003 server using active directory. My system does not support PAM (I'm using slackware) so I cannot take that route. I do not need to use dovecot for POP or IMAP at the present time and so I would like to avoid modifying my

Re: [linux-cifs-client] Mounting directories below share level
Many thanks for all the help with this, it looks very promising for what we are trying to do. I'm following on from this and still getting problems, probably from my own lack of knowledge. If I do: root@ma:~# mount -t smb -o username=test //time.cfs/usershare1$ /mnt Password: root@ma:~# df Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on .. other file systems ..

Using machine account credentials for issuing standalone ldap queries against a Windows 2000 Active Directory server
Hello All, This might come across as a rather strange and interesting question related to using machine account credentials to issue standalone ldap queries against an Active Directory server. We are using Samba and use 'ads' mode to join the machine onto the Active Directory (net ads join).? Once the machine is joined to the domain,?we do not have access to the username and password

Unresolved Questions for Active Directory Kerberos/LDAP/AD4Unix or SFU35 support?
I have been digging around for information on this in either online and published books, but I haven't yet found the answer. I am interested in AD connective through AD Kerberos/LDAP/SFU or AD Kerberos/LDAP/AD4Unix. I have a pure win2k3 environment, so there is no backwards support via PDC emulator. Published books document older NT-like environments. *cries* If there are any documents,

dovecot-ldap.conf - Active directory
Hello, I have a configuration with dovecot-ldap working with openldap (on FreebSD 5.4 Release). Now I'm trying to do the same thing with an Active Directory (win2k3). I have installed an properly configured SFU. Via nss_ldap-pam_ldap is working fine (FreeBSD 6.2 Release). Because nss_ldap is reported broken with dovecot I'm trying to use dovecot-ldap for both passdb and userdb. My

Problem with LDAP-query (Active Directory) on filter by memberOf
Hi list! We have a Dovecot 2.3.4 (from Debian 10 repository) that should connect to our AD to authenticate the users. It works, but now we would like to restrict using IMAP to all users in the Group "Funktion - E-Mail-Konto". So I changed the query from: (&(sAMAccountName=%n)(objectClass=user)(homeMDB=*)) to

idmap backend with Active Directory LDAP
Everything that I have read about 'idmap backend' describes it being used with a standalone LDAP server. Is it possible though to configure Samba to store idmaps directly in an Active Directory LDAP using 'idmap backend'? This would obviously involve some schema changes to Active Directory, but other than that I can't think of any technical reasons why this would not be

winbind idmap using active directory as ldap backend
hello, I need to continue where this HOWTO ends: http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/idmapper.html#idmaprfc2307 I worked with krb+ldap authentication/authorization against Windows 2003 Servers (SP1 with SFU3.5 and R2) before so I am familiar with the mappings needed but I don't really understand how winbind is of any use if /etc/nsswitch.conf points to "files
