[PATCH] Accurate vcpu weighting for credit scheduler
Hi,
This patch intends to accurate vcpu weighting
for CPU intensive job.
The reason of this problem is that
vcpu round-robin queue blocks large weight vcpus
by small weight vcpus.
For example, we assume following case on 2pcpu environment.
(with 4domains (each domain has 2vcpus))
dom1 vcpu0,1 w128 credit 4
dom2 vcpu0,1 w128 credit 4
dom3 vcpu0,1 w256 credit 8
dom4 vcpu0,1 w512 credit 15

domU consoles
Hi
I have a couple of questions:
1. How do I exist from a domU console back to dom0 console (after
issuing xm console [domU])?
2. How do I setup a dom0/domU in order to get a tty login?
TIA
Paolo

Errors in /var/log/messages and "dmesg"
A friend of mine is running Samba (samba-2.0.3-8) on a couple RedHat Linux
6.0 machines. He is sharing files bilaterally at work with a WinNT
machine and at home with a Win9x machine.
In both places, he is getting a large number of SMB error messages. I'm
not sure whether these are from the smbfs (smbmount) or from the Windoze
machines accessing the Linux drives, though I suspect the

ethernet outages C5.4
Hello All,
I don't have any reason to believe CENTOS (5.4) is underlying my
difficulties but it's what I've got to work with so here's the setup:
I have a 2P motherboard with 2 Opteron 2376s and two ethernet ports.
The setup is fully virtualized, with Dom0, dom4 and Dom1 up and
running. dom4 is attached to a dhcp service on eth0 and has no problems.

SMBFS Problems: smb_proc_readdir_long: name=, result= -2, rcls=1, err=123
On additional note, I was able to use filler directories to circumvent the
problem. This works for me since it is archives, but wouldn't for most.
Here is an example:
No filler files:
ls -l - Returns no files
Filler file at top of the directory structure (00_SAMBA)
ls -l - Returns directories 0-D and N-Z
Filler files the top of directory structure and where D's stoped (00_SAMBA

Security Issue??
I have noticed the following behavior when testing out Samba 3.0.1 on RH9
with ldap authentication.
Linux Samba V3.0.1 set up as PDC for domain DOM1 has a user test1. Two NT4
domains DOM2 and DOM3 also have a user called test1 with the same password
as the user in DOM1 (all three users have the same username and password).
All servers are on the same local subnet.
When user1 does a logon to

[PATCH] fix free of event channel in blkfront
Hi All,
We tested the xm block-attach/detach command.
It repeats block-attach/detach command for DomU and pv-on-hvm on HVM Domain.
(block-attach -> block-detach -> block-attach -> block-detach -> ...)
The block-attach command failed when repeating 256 times.
It is because the channel had not been freed in blkfront.
Therefore, it remain using the event channel.

netbios
Hi all,
My NT environment cannot recognize my SAMBA servers(Bad IP address when ping
from MS DOS prompt) and after I restarted the nmbd daemon it can see my SAMBA
servers. Does anyone know why this happens? Is it there is a change in the
WINS server's database? Please advise.
thanks & regards,

Hi guys/girls,

Any ideas what this is ?
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

Promiscuous mode
Hi Everyone,
In order to prevent DomU from entering promiscuous mode, is it just a matter of adding these 2 rules when the vif is created?
# Accept packets leaving the bridge going to the domU only if
# the destination IP for that packet matches an authorized IPv4
# address for that domU.
iptables -A FORWARD -m physdev --physdev-out vif1.0 \
--destination 216.146.46.43 -j ACCEPT

Multiple domain browselist over a wanlink
Hi,
I'm trying to generate a multiple domain browselist but I don't get it to
work.
I've tried everyting by the book but the result is always the same:
I can see the other workgroup(s) but they are empty. Currently I've added
the following rules to the smb.conf
remote browse sync = 192.168.2.2 192.168.2.4
remote announce = 192.168.2.2 192.168.2.4

I need your help. I would like to create a front-back architecture with Xen.
My physical server has only one public Interface.
Currently, my DOM0 is using the network-route configuration:

(vif-script vif-route)*
My DOM1 is configured with a public IP + proxy_arp with DOM0. DOM1 can

smb_proc_readdir_long - ls not showing files
Hello,
We are getting a baffling problem with a samba mounted drive on Redhat, mounted
from a windows box. We cannot always see files in the mounted directory with ls
or perl. The directory has 237 files in it. We sometimes see 197 files with
ls. Sometimes we see nothing. This can happen from one try to the next (i.e.
run ls, see the files, immediately run ls again and see nothing). We have

smbfs and 1500 files
Mounted a smbfs filesystem from windows 2000 server. I am not able to list
about 1500 files in the mounted directory, the other directories are OK. The
error I've got:
smb_proc_readdir_long: name=, result=-2, rcls=1, err=123
Found no solution after searching maillist archives. System - RH7.3, 2.4.18
with xfs acl, samba-2.2.5-1. Thanks for any help.

Interesting errors...
Greetings,
About 2 months ago, we decided to backup our Oracle test servers via
samba rather than nfs -- the backups were just taking too long using
nfs. No problem mounting the remote file share to the server and the
backup took about one-third of the time. Yep, worked good...and still
continues to out perform nfs hands down.
Problem is - I'm receiving errors on both of the test servers.
