grub/raid1 on centos4
With Centos3, fedora1/2 I have been able to put /boot on a RAID1 partition and have it boot normally. Unlike earlier versions that used lilo as the default boot loader, these did not make the 2nd drive bootable but at least I was fairly confident that if the first drive failed I could use the install CD in rescue mode to fix up the 2nd one and go on. However, Centos4 won't boot at all with

Need help debugging R.
I originally posted this to R-help, but here is probably a better place. I have a rather complex routine which works great in R. Then I bootstrap it. After running a few minutes it typically segfaults, though it happens very randomly. This happens w/ 1.9.0 and 1.9.1 on Fedora1 and a Scyld (RH7.3) system. Traces always point back to routines in src/main/memory.c, though often not the same

compiz on aiglx redux
Hi, I've revisited compiz on aiglx and at this point, if you're running rawhide (fedora development), it's a matter of installing the i386 RPM found here: http://people.redhat.com/krh/compiz/ There's a SRPM there too for other architectures, rebuild using rpmbuild --rebuild compiz-0.0.13.fedora1-3.src.rpm To run compiz, first start the gnome-window-decorator process in

Voicemail not receiving password or audio
Hi, I'm using * with the latest CVS image as of this afternoon on Fedora1. I am using snom 200's with the latest firmware. When I dial the voicemail extension and try to enter my password, * does not receive the password. The console complains about not receiving the password. Also, when I try to leave voicemail messages there seems to be no talk path and the recording session times out.

Disk space and RAM requirements in docs
Hi, Have anybody recently built LLVM in Debug mode /within/ space requirements from the Getting Started doc? https://llvm.org/docs/GettingStarted.html#hardware > An LLVM-only build will need about 1-3 GB of space. A full build of LLVM and Clang will need around 15-20 GB of disk space. From my experience this numbers looks drastically low. On FreeBSD my recent builds consumed more than

Question around updates and drpms directory
Looking at the nice new 6.4 tree (thanks!!!) I see there are already a few updates. eg Packages/firefox-17.0.3-1.el6.centos.i686.rpm Packages/firefox-17.0.3-1.el6.centos.x86_64.rpm So far, so normal. These occur because of timing. That's not a problem; it's expected. What confuses me, though, is the drpms directory where there are 33 firefox drpm files compared to the 2 Packages,

What is writing to my filesystem
I have a CentOS 5.2 box that every few months runs out of drivespace on its root filesystem. Last time I manually searched and deleted some big files, but don't remember what they were or what wrote to them. The applications I'm aware of on the box don't write to /. Is there a way to find the files that get written to the most, or grow the most over time? Doing a df gives me a
