Too many handles on this pipe
I wonder if there is any resolution to this problem.
I'm encountering similar situation with the Nashuatec DSC338 and P7325
printers from Ricoh using RPCS drivers. After uploading those drivers
and performing basic printing preferences configuration, the print
server crashed and become inaccessible.
Here is the error from samba.log:

Printing problems
I'm having several printing problems. Server is RHEL 3, running
samba-3.0.9-1.3E.2 and cups-1.1.17-13.3.22. Clients are Win2K and WinXP.
First, we're seeing the "failure to remove print jobs from queue list
display" problem that others have reported. The document count for each
printer also doesn't match the number of jobs in the queue list. I

Fw: INTERNAL ERROR Report
I realized that my choice of options for grep did not do a very good job
of including the last error message before the INTERNAL ERROR. I've
included it in this email. Sorry.

Printer Admin Difficulties
I have been trying to setup a new print server on Fedora 12 based around
samba-3.4.7-58.fc12.x86_64 and cups-1.4.2-28.fc12.x86_64. All looks
good except for the ability for printer administrators to manage
printers. Whether I specify users in a system group using the
deprecated printer admin option, or specifically using net rpc rights
and the SePrinterOperatorPrivilege, it does not matter.

INTERNAL ERROR Report
I have read the BUGS.txt file, used 'testparm' (successfully), and run
through all the steps in DIAGNOSIS.txt. I don't see any problems that
those tools have identified. The BUGS.txt file indicated that INTERNAL
ERROR was almost certainly the result of a bug. I'm hopeful I have sent
you the information you need. Let me know if there is something more I
need to send.

Hello
Im not sure how to ask the question i need, but let me try:
Background:

Role: domain member server (winbind)
I am having a lot of trouble upgrading samba and I'm thinking of moving
to another server. I have found that if I move the winbindd_idmap.tdb
across, the AD / UID mappings are saved but would like to know:

user 'root' does not exist
Hello list
Sorry if this has been answered before, I have had a look around and
could not find any answers.
I am running samba 3.0.3pre2 on suse 9.0 - installed from suse rpms.
I have managed to join the 2k3 domain and users are authenticating
perfectly and all seems to be working, (users have actually remarked
about a speed increase!) although i get this strange message in the
log.winbindd:

Joining Linux to Windows 2000 domain
Hello, I am new to Linux, Samba, and actually servers in general. I am
attempting to set up a Linux file server and join it to a Windows 2000
domain. All I want to be able to do is get files from the linux file server
and put files on it. I do not want it to be the domain controller.
I join the domain using: net join -S 10.10.10.40 -UAdministrator%password
It tells me that I have joined

Printing Issues with NT type Clients.
Hi. To begin with, I have a freshly built RedHat Linux 8.0 box running samba 2.2.8a. The kernel version is 2.4.18-14. I downloaded and compiled samba from source. I am using LPRng-3.8.9-6 as my printing system. The attached printer is a Lexmark Z22 printer and it is attached to the parralel port.
Problem:
For the life of me, I can't get NT type clients, NT4, 2K and XP to print to samba.

broken pipe when working on open files (?), MacOS X, 3.0.2/3.0.3pre2
Hello all,
I have trouble to use rsync (tested with 3.0.2 and 3.0.3pre2) on MacOS X
10.3.
Rsync always seems to stop when working on open files (?). Source is my
laptop
hard disk, destination a USB attached external drive.
If I stop Firefox for instance all runs smoothly.
This is how I built rsync:
#!/bin/bash
# VERSION=3.0.2
VERSION=3.0.3pre2

Unable to access printers
Hi All,
Since updating a from 3.0.1-2 to 3.0.2-1 a few weeks back I've been
unable to print. I checked all the obvios settings, but as they had
been working perfectly for some time prior was not surprised to find the
configuration was correct.
The authentication is configured via winbind to a 2000 ADS PDC.
security = DOMAIN
I've since updated again to 3.0.2-2 and found the issue

random errors "the local drive name is already in use. This connection has not been restored."
Hello,
I have random errors that I can not analyze nor fix:
when several users connect to the same Samba share, they get sometimes
error messages
"the local drive name is already in use. This connection has not been
restored", although the connection
is still usable afterwards. This sometimes breaks a file operation.
Clients are running Windows 2000, and the server is a Solaris 8

Moving Profiles
Hi everyone,
I'm about to install a Samba PDC in a network that previously was
working as a workgroup. All the users have been logging into their
local machines as "administrator" and all with the same password.
What I would really like to do is to move their profiles with them, but
as they are all using the same username and the like I can see this is
going to cause problems.
