Printer setup
Hi I have installed samba on a linux suse server. Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to setup printers for clients using NT OS's. I have a printer installed on the linux machine and the printer can be seen by the client using unc. Integrated Networks IN1002 SIP Phones?
Does anyone know anything about the Integrated Networks IN1002 SIP Phones from China? I ordered one of these phone off of ebay and I have it working. I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about them? Their website www.integratednetworks.com.cn was not very helpful, and the online PDF manual is not OK. PXE Bootdisk
Hello, I hope that I am applying this question to the correct place, if not I do apologise! I would like to create a boot floppy which mimics a PXE rom. In this instance I would like to boot very old non PXE NIC workstations and install them from our Windows RIS. Is it necessary that I create a some sort of full Linux boot cd to use for this purpose or is there a pre prepared boot disk already

FW: Windows machines to samba over internet
That is correct jim. We will setup a vpn, we also know the ports to open but the real question is if there is any parameter to increase the timeout period when the windows machines decide that there is no "share" at the other end.... Since the remote workers connected to the internet are using slow links, we are having problems with timeouts.... Thanks, -----Original Message-----

return of the stupid!
I am not sure what to read to find out about creating a PXE boot disk. I have used the rom-o-matic site's latest stable (eb-5[1].2.5-rtl8139.zpxe), and found that booting the system displayed this error: PXE->EB err I also tried using eb-5[1].3.9-rtl8139.zpxe and found that booting the system launched into a constant stream of "No PXE PXE-???" repeating without carriage return

hello, i'm running samba 2.2.2 on Linux 2.4.10. i have 3 other pc's on the network, all running win98. so there is LINUX, WIN1, WIN2 and WIN3. the problem is that some of my shares are not writeable, but they read perfectly, both locally using smbclient, as well as from all the win98 clients. i noticed that all of the problematic shares are mounted from FAT partitions on LINUX, which

[this message is a resend, I apologise for duplicates, but I think the original mail did not make it.] 12/3/2004 hi, I followed the instructions faithfully in http://www.voip-info.org/wiki-Asterisk+Fedora+Core+3 and the directions were very understandable and almost painless. I did miss the documentation, as "make progdocs" would not work since the package "doxygen" was not

Fax on demand
I know you're looking to do this with asterisk, however, if you have trouble and want an outsourced solution, try www.openfax.com. You can do the IVR with Asterisk and then write a script that calls Openfax and they send out the fax for you. krw -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Isamar Maia

Integrating an old PBX with Asterisk
Hi all, I was thinking about integrating an old PBX with Asterisk and I was wondering some possible configurations. The question is: which is the best way to let the 2 systems interact ? I can imagine some possible scenarios: - scenario 1: I want to use other then old PBX terminations (ie I have to link the 2 systems with some internal number line) In this scenario I could think to give each user

Aastra/Sayson 480i
I'm currently testing these phones and so far I'm very pleased with them. I'm using the SIP image (Version: 1.0.0.23 Release: 0032-01-A4). There are a few issues with the speaker not working properly when you dial out or pick a call but this is a known issue and will be hashed out in the next release. I've been working with the developers at Sayson and they have been very

Slow transfer file between Windows and Samba PDC (2.2 .3a)
Guillaume Found this in the Network Admin Guide - http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/linag2/book/ch05.html#X-087-2-IFACE.IFCONFIG "Receiver overruns usually occur when packets come in faster than the kernel can service the last interrupt." I think you definitely have a problem with your NIC on the Samba machine. I would swap it out and/or change the cable and see if that cures things.

Problems with samba pdc and
I ran into a similar problem with one of my machines. I simply couldn't quite understand why it happened. I did destroy and recreate the machine account and it still persisted. I ended up changing the machine name and creating a new machine name for the system. That is the only fix that I am aware of at this time. During your planning and migration, DNS character set limitations = require special attention. NetBIOS names used in previous versions of Windows = may contain additional characters that are illegal in DNS (namely, ~!@#$%^&'.(){}, and not supported by any DNS server implementation) or characters (e.g. Unicode characters) that are supported by only a few = DNS server implementations (e.g.

Configuration help with ices 0.3
Thanks for the tips, made the changes unfortunately it has not changed that I still get the same error message. I've even tried passing along the parameters via command line through ices without any luck. I'm going to attach both my files to this e-mail as it might be easier to read them that way then the copy & paste method. Chris -----Original Message----- From:

Configuration help with ices 0.3
I looked at the error.log file for icecast and here's what I found [time] INFO connection/_handle_source_request: Source (/) attempted to login with invalid or missing password It looks like a combination of two things, it's login into an invalid mount point and the wrong password is being sent. I still can't figure out how though since I have the correct password in the config file.
