Questions about winbind idmap ldap
We are using W2K domain with Samba3 servers. The implementation of samba servers with winbind authentication was successful. Now we are looking for winbind idmap ldap backend for distributing winbind users ID's, and I have following question: 1. Do I need put all users from W2K domain to LDAP by hand (with export - import tools)? 2. Or it is possible to automatically put successfully

err: I have no name (Idmap Ldap)
I succesfully setted up the winbind with "idmap backend = ldap:ldap:..." LDAP is used only to store idmap's. The problem: On the server with OpenLDAP and winbind, all is working fine! Thanks to the SAMBA team and OSS community! But on the second server, where winbind is used to authenticate users and retrieve uid's from server with ldap, users get error message: "id:

Home directories on AD/Samba
I just set up our Samba-Server to athenticate over Active Directory (Win 2003). But there is one thing that bothers me: There are no home-directories for the domain users, that waere added to the linux passwd database (EXAMPLE.COM+user1 can be authenticated, but has no home on the Linux-box). If I create a share home, nobody can open it, because it cannot be found. Only if I set the path option,

samba runs only in interactive mode
Hi, We have migrated our old Win2000 AD domain (~ 1000 user accounts) to Samba 4.0.7 AD, but some things doesn't work as expected (samba process crashes a few times a day/week with PANIC without any noticeable reason; samba dbcheck can't fix some db errrors and so on) , and I'm trying to resolve the issues. I tested this on various servers (Debian wheezy, Ubuntu 12.04) and

smbpasswd and rpcclient differences between 3.0.14a and 3.0.21a
Hi all, The problem is that from version 3.0.21a the commands rpcclient and smbpasswd does't work as before (and as I wish), when connecting to remote Windows2000 domain controller. Below are some tests and outputs, which show the command outputs. In both cases samba is compiled from original sources. OS - Debian testing and verified on Ubuntu. RPCLIENT: ./rpcclient -c 'queryuser

Getting Winbind IDMAP into LDAP?
Hi, I?ve been trying to populate an LDAP directory with IDMAP information from Winbind using NSS_LDAP without much success over the last week. Can anybody tell me if I?ve done anything obviously wrong? I?ve followed the example shown in the Samba ?By Example? doc and am at the stage where the LDAP directory has been created and configured, NSS_LDAP config is amended, smb.conf contains entries to

"continuous" boxplot?
I have two vectors x and y, which I would like to plot against each other. I am also displaying other data in this plot. However, I have about 1 million points to plot, and just plotting them x againt y is not very informative. What I'd like to do is to do sort of a continuous box plot. My x values goes from -1 to 1 and my y values from 0 to 1, so I?d like to plot the median and quantiles,

pop 110/995, imap 143/993 ?
just setting a new Dovecot server to migrate from older system, but, I have a general question: 1. I've set the server with self issued cert, and both pop/imap StartTLS/110/143 SSL/993/995 (apologies if I'm using wrong naming terminology) is there a 'preferred way'? should I tell users to use 143 over 993 ? or 993 over 143? or? my current understanding is that some (MS?)

Authenticate CDR Logging
Hi All: I am mainly using my asterisk box for me and my six roomates, mainly for DISA when we're on the road. Currently I use exten => s,2,Authenticate(/home/supalogs/callcards) to check againt a list of 10 passwords. The only problem here is that CDR does not log Authenticate passwords, so I am unable to tell who made what call. If anyone knows how I can add a custom CDR field to log

produce hours greater than 23
Hy all, I wish to use the date function to draw againt the lifetime of a motor. This lifetime is given to me in Hours (it can go over 5000 hours) I'm unable to find how to convert this lifetime value to something like %H:%M:%S because when R see 24H it says 1 day, i don't want that, i just want %H:%M:%S with a value of %H higher than 24... for example: i've got this value in hours:

Regarding LARGE number of files in a folder in linux
This goes out to you admins who manage servers with a heavy load of information. I would like to know what you do about the number of files in a folder, or if that is a concern. I think there is a limitation or a slow down if it gets to big, but what is optimal (if necessary) Example- running a website that allows a user to upload some photos (small ones). You get lets say 300,000 users each

[LLVMdev] RFC: Atomics.h
Some of you may have noticed that I addedd include/llvm/System/ Atomics.h to the repository briefly, which will be used for adding support for threading in LLVM. I have tried to provided appropriate implementations of the atomic ops (currently memory fence and CAS) for platforms we care about, but my knowledge of these, and my ability to test them, is limited. So, please, if you run on
