sambaAcctFlags automatically DUX when logon
hi all, as I wrote yesterday I've set up a samba3.0.3 as pdc for my w2k-domain with ldapsam-backend (cyrus-sasl, heimdal) on suse9.0. everything worked fine. but yesterday the /dev/sda1 (/homes; xfs file system) crashed, when I created a new user with smbldap-useradd. I could repair the xfs file system and everything seemed fine. to test the system I've created a new user. but the new

DUX UX in smbpasswd??
hallo list, samba 2.x + SuSE 7.3 working as PDC in NT/W2K-Network: in the smbpasswd the account flags are set to U, DU, W. But a few accounts have an added X like UX or DUX. The man page describes only flags D, U, W and N. what does the X mean or can it be deleted. Anybody else with this appearance, Marco Lechner

Fw: MS Office files on NT client
No one replied to me ..... But, in case anyone like me searches archives in vain for this problem, the answer is turn off oplocks on the share that the NT client wishes to save Office files to. Don't really understand why this resolves the snag and I guess the performance will take a theoretical hit. But with 20 client machines on a 100Meg LAN this is not really a problem. Phil Daintree Dux

Samba accounts disabled
Hello, We have been running Samba 2.2.x/Sun ONE LDAP on a particular machine for about 3 years now and I recently upgraded it to 3.0.14a with ldapsam compatibility (I can mess with the directory later if necessary). Now when users try to connect to the server their accounts get disabled unless I have specifically enabled them using smbpasswd -e username (which is kind of tough because I have to

MS Office files on NT client
Samba has worked well for several years - upgraded to 2.2 with Suse 7.2 6 months ago all well and happy. An NT client - logged on as Administrator - that was working with Samba for over a year had its share changed from one user to another - using clear text passwords, the machine was also tidied up. It connects to Samba with the new user's log on and password and NT explorer sees the shares

Some accounts getting locked after server upgrade
We just migrated to a new file server. The new server is running SuSE Enterprise 10 which is has samba-3.0.22-13.16 from the old server which was running SUSE 8.2 w/ samba-2.2.8a-234 with no problems. This setup is not running domains just straight samba with the accounts managed locally. Some of our users smbpasswd entries keep getting reset. Here's a before:

sambaAcctFlags for PDC
What should be the flag for PDC machine trust account? If I set to "S" then it will appear as "BDC" in NT server manager, if "W" then as "Workstation or server", if no machine trust then it will not appear on server manager list. --beast

D flag at sambaAcctFlags
Hello, I have a server with Samba(3.0.13-1.1)/OpenLDAP and sometimes my users get a D flag at sambaAcctFlags. There are some users that don?t have all the samba attributes yet. I would like to know why it happens. Which actions/attributes can tell to samba turn de D flag on? This is a ldif of a user that yesterday got a D flag: uid=fulano,ou=Users,dc=grad,dc=br dn:

par("uin") ?
I inherited a function written either for an older version of R or SPlus to draw a brace, "{", in a graph. It uses par("uin") to determine the scaling of the quarter circles that make up segments of the brace, but that setting doesn't exist in current R. I'm guessing that, in the function below, ux, uy can be defined from par("usr") and

Antwort: Password about to expire -- Turn Windlows Client Password Ageing Off?
Hi, there is a "X" value for the acount flags in smbpasswd ... it means no password expiry! I found it on passdb/passdb.c. If it work?s, maybe I don?t no! Also the password expire time ist hard coded in passwd.c too ... set to infinity. Take a look at the passwd.c code!
