Some applications print, some don't
Hi, I have a wine working for an application called Infovet that is written in Visual Basic, i guess (there is a dll called Vbrun200.dll). Everything but printing works fine. I tested with notepad.exe that comes with wine and it worked well. The printer was detected, kprinter was started and the page is OK. Here is my config: karin@servidor:/home/infovet/drive_c/infovet$ dpkg -l |

Samba 3.0.4-3 bug re: libcupsys2-gnutls10
I hope this is the right place to post this. Apologies if not. My samba 3.0.4-3 install was working fine last night on debian 2.4.23 unstable (see uname below) and happily tranferring large files at 77 Mbps across my LAN (a first! but that's another story) until, suddenly, it stopped and would only move data at about .05 Mbps. Investigation was futile, so I uninstalled Samba and then

Printing in Wine 20050725
I have just reinstalled wine on my Debian Sid (unstable) system after several years without it, in order to run a handful of Windows applications: IE, Lotus Notes, ... I use CUPS to support printing under Linux, and several years ago had no real problems printing from Windows applications running under Wine. However, I am now unable to print from any of them using Wine release 20050725. When I

Although I can print locally on a linux machine running samba-3.4.5, cups-1.4.1, hplip-3.9.12 without errors, when any windows machines try to print to a printer connected to the Linux machine, the job prints, but gives the following error: "/usr/local/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster failed" ..and the job remains in the print queue on both the local and remote machines. configuration & cups
I seem to be having a great deal of trouble with cups and samba configuration. cups seems to go on and off and it works and doesn't work. I think I need some help on my samba configuration. Generally, it has worked well on another machine, but my current setup seems a bit screwy. System: FreeBSD 4.6.2; cups-1.1.15.1; cups-base-1.1.15.1_4; cups-lpr-1.1.15.1_1;cups-pstoraster-7.05.5;

Please add fstype support for vfat and udf
Hey, I'd greatly appreciate support for fstype detection of vfat and udf so that I can get rid of my hacky userspace solutions. I'm afraid I can't provide a patch - I'm really not into kernel developmen. However, I offer a mail-hug as bounty for getting support for this in. Regards :) -- Sven-Hendrik

cups printing and user names from trusted domains
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Im currently running some tests for a samba/CUPS based print server. The print server is a member of an NT domain and uses winbind to import NT domain users. Users accessing the print server will be not from the same domain but from trusted domains. Everything basically seems to work, once you use sufficiently new versions of cups and samba. Recommended Packages document
Fresh install of Debian Etch. Before I install wine (from winehq), I'd like to double check something about the following document. I've only included the portion refering to Debian. http://wiki.winehq.org/Recommended_Packages The document was last edited 2007-10-07 15:26:02. My question is about the last comment about freeglut3-dev. Still required or not, would there be any problems if I

Problems when attempting to build wine from source on Ubuntu
I am trying to build Wine from source on an X64 Hardy Ubuntu system in order to do some regression testing. I am having trouble however to build the dependencies for that. I already did these a while ago, but I re-applied just in case the instructions from this page for the apt repository http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb. I constantly get this error: xavier at Xavier:~$ sudo apt-get

Fwd: Samba semantics error?
Hello, I have this bug report that I have filed. Is there any specific reason why samba behaves this way, and doesn't use the unix semantics? Since this is even more restrictive than unix semantics, I'm more inclined to call it a bug until I know it's supposed to be this way. Any ideas? ----- Forwarded message from Mike Fedyk <mfedyk@matchmail.com> ----- From: Mike Fedyk
