[PATCH 0/13] ocfs2: xattr bucket API
When the extended attribute namespace grows to a b-tree, the leaf clusters are organized by means of 'buckets'. Each bucket is 4K in size, regardless of blocksize. Thus, a bucket may be made of more than one block. fs/ocfs2/xattr.c has a nice little abstraction to wrap this, struct ocfs2_xattr_bucket. It contains a list of buffer_heads representing these blocks, and there is even an

[PATCH 0/7] ocfs2: Directory indexing support
The following patches implement indexed directory support in Ocfs2, mostly according to the design doc I wrote up a while ago: http://oss.oracle.com/osswiki/OCFS2/DesignDocs/IndexedDirectories The patches have been rebased on top of 2.6.29-rc2. It should be trivial to put them into merge_window. Things are what I'd call complete now. I'd like to get these into the merge_window branch

What is the history of CONFIG_EXT{2,3}_CHECK?
Can anyone tell me the history of CONFIG_EXT{2,3}_CHECK? There is code for a "check" option for mount if these options are enabled, but there's no way to enable them. TIA Adrian -- "Is there not promise of rain?" Ling Tan asked suddenly out of the darkness. There had been need of rain for many days. "Only a promise," Lao Er said.

Updated 2.4 htree patches available for 2.4.21rc5
I've backported all of the bugfixes to the 2.5 dxdir/htree patches to 2.4, and have created a new set of patches for Linux 2.4.21rc5. At this point it *looks* like we've fixed all of the htree bugs that people have reported, including the brelse bug, the memory leak bugs, and the NFS compatibility problems. I've done *very* light testing, and things seem to work, but I'm now

[git patches] Ocfs2 updates for 2.6.30
Hi, The following patches comprise the bulk of Ocfs2 updates for the 2.6.30 merge window. Aside from larger, more involved fixes, we're adding the following features, which I will describe in the order their patches are mailed. Sunil's exported some more state to our debugfs files, and consolidated some other aspects of our debugfs infrastructure. This will further aid us in debugging

[PATCH] ocfs2: return f_fsid info in ocfs2_statfs(), v4
Currently f_fsid of struct kstatfs returned from ocfs2_statfs() is undefined (vfs layer fills 0 as default). Since in some conditions, f_fsid value might be used as (f_fsid, ino) pair to uniquely identify a file, ocfs2 should return a unique defined f_fsid value from ocfs2_statfs(). Because uuid_str is identified no mater on big or litlle endian machine, it's also endian consistent to use

[PATCH] ocfs2: return f_fsid info in ocfs2_statfs()
Currently f_fsid of struct kstatfs returned from ocfs2_statfs() is undefined (at least it should be filled with 0). Since in some conditions, f_fsid value might be used as (f_fsid, ino) pare to uniquely identify a file, ocfs2 should return a defined unique f_fsid value from ocfs2_statfs(). This patch uses uuid_hash as a unique ID to initiate f_fsid value, the 32bits width is enough for ocfs2

[PATCH 00/39] ocfs2: Add reflink file support. V3
Hi all, So I have finally finished the v3 of reflink for ocfs2. The biggest change is that we support 64bit cluster offset now(Thank Mark and Joel for it). [PATCH] Link breaks for large NR_CPUS
ext2 & ext3 lists, Attatched is a patch that allows ext2 and ext3 to link correctly when the kernel is configured with a large NR_CPUS. We do have an immediate need for this patch. Any opinions on this? The per-cpu lists are causing the kmalloc to fail due to allocating more than the max. thanks mh -- Martin Hicks Wild Open Source Inc. mort@wildopensource.com

ocfs2: add security EA support v4
Hi, I split the previous support security EA patch into four patches for review. Them besed on joel's xattr-28 branch and tao's patch "Merge xattr set transaction". 1: move new_inode out of the transaction. 2: add ocfs2_xattr_set_handle. 3: add security xattr APIs 4: add init_security in mknod. Export knfsd/ext3 on doubly patched kernel(knfsd/reiserfs) OK?
Hi - if I have a doubly patched kernel (2.4.5) (1) Apply gkernel/CVS ext3 patches (2) Apply Neil Brown/Reiserfs team knfsd and reiserfs patches Will ext3 be exportable by knfsd (i.e. inherit automagically the nfsd_operations thingies from ext2) or does it need further patching? -- Chan Shih-Ping (Richard) <cshihpin@dso.org.sg> DSO National Laboratories 20 Science Park Drive

Any issues with ext3-0.0.7 on 2.4.6-pre5?
Are there any issues with ext3-2.4-0.0.7 on 2.4.6-pre5? The patch applies with offsets and no rejects. [I need the export reiserfs by knfsd functionality of -pre3 onwards. My intent for the test system is to protect all standard partitions /, /usr, /var with ext3 (easier to revert to ext2 and do OS upgrades) and try a mixture of ext3 and reiserfs for exporting of data and user home partitions.]

Is ext3 kernel nfsd friendly?
This is prompted by two issues: Neil Brown on the NFS list asking for file systems that users want to export via NFS and the problems that the other journaling filesystem reiserfs has with knfsd. As far as I understand reiserfs does not work with knfsd so a patch is needed for the fs driver to provide a callback to knfsd to allow the fs driver to do some clever tricks with inodes. Neil's

Openssh-2.1.1p2 BUG? X11 forwarding no longer works
BUG: X11 forwarding no longer works in Openssh-2.1.1p2. I think this is due to the wrong sense of the test in session.c:1372 session_x11_req(Session *s) { if (!no_port_forwarding_flag) { debug("X11 forwarding disabled in user configuration file."); return 0; } It should be session_x11_req(Session *s) { if

OpenSSH-2.1.1p2: Is this misuse of strtok?
Is this a misuse of strtok() in OpenSSH-2.1.1p2? readconf.c:process_config_line() calls strtok() to parse config lines. When it finds oProtocol it calls compat.c:proto_spec() which in turns uses strtok(). However on return of proto_spec(), process_config_line() calls strtok() once more to (quoting from the source code) /* Check that there is no garbage at end of line. */ But surely strtok()

[PATCH 00/42] ocfs2: Add reflink file support. V1
Hi all, So I have finally finished the v1 of reflink for ocfs2. It has some bugs that I am still investigating, but the schema is almost there. So I'd like to send it out first for review. And Tristan and I will continue to work on the stability of the code. The general information for reflink, please see http://oss.oracle.com/osswiki/OCFS2/DesignDocs/Reflink. Strane remount behaviour with ext3-2.4-0.9.4
Following the announcement on lkml, I have started using ext3 on one of my servers. Since the server in question is a farily security-sensitive box, my /usr partition is mounted read only except when I remount rw to install packages. I converted this partition to run ext3 with the mount options "nodev,ro,data=writeback,defaults" figuring that when I need to install new packages etc,
