Combining NFS and Samaba - file locking
I have a network where we have a main site with a PDC, and two remote
sites with BDCs. The backend is LDAP which is slaved to the remote
sites, Samba is 2.2.8a, the main server is part of the Suse Linux
OpeneXchange Server, the other two servers are Suse Standard Server 8.
What I wanted to do was to have users at the various sites map one
drive from their 'local' server. Behind the

Are failed client logins on the XP clients logged anywhere ?
How about non-domain member clients accessing shares ?
I've been asked to provide a log of failed login attempts with a view

thing). There

SCO OpenServer 5.0.6a and missing libncurses.so.4
I've downloaded Samba 2.2.6 (binaries) from SCOs Skunkware site, but
when I try and run smbclient I get a message :

I've checked and there is no libncurses.so.4 (or
libncurses.<anything> for that matter) on the system. I've also
failed to find anything relevant in either the list archive or SCOs

Cross-subnet browsing (again)
I have a network with several sites, and all clients (mostly win9x) using
one WINS server (Samba on RH Linux). The different sites have one or more
workgroups each, and I want all workgroups to be visible and browsable for
all clients.
As far as I can make out, the clients at the various networks can only
browse the workgroups which are either local or the one the WINS server is
a member of. Not

Suse Linux OpenExchange Server (Samba 2.2.5) and XP
Sorry of I'm going over old ground ...
We are in the process of putting in a Suse Linux OpenExchange Server
(SLOX) which at present includes Samba 2.2.5*. We are also attempting
to use this as a PDC for XP clients that we are going to be rolling
out.
Now, everything seems to be going down the pan, and it looks like the
problem is that XP has dropped support for 'old style'

Devices not appearing/Manually add devices to Browse List ?
I'm not quite sure whether this is a plain browsing problem, or a wins
problems, or ...
I had wins running on one machine (Samba(2.0.5a)/SCO Unix), but my main
file server on another (Samba (2.2.1a)/Linux). I moved the wins support to
the Linux server, and at the same time I made the Linux server the Domain
Master Browser, but now some devices have dissapeared from the network.

Samba3-LDAP PDC and SUSE OpenExchange
Hi all,
I have setup a Samba3 PDC and BDC with an LDAP backend to replace my current
NT 4.0 infrastructure. This configuration is working fine. I also am testing
integration of SuSE OpenExchange and would like to have it authenticate
logons via the domain LDAP database.

Win 98 loosing it.
Hi,
One of my friends came to me with a problem I've heard of before but haven't
found an answer yet.
Her situation is a Windows network with a mixture of Win XP and Win 98
computers. There are 4 98 machines of which 2 are giving her, and now me,
fits. Seems these 2 loose their drive mappings after about 5 - 10 minutes of
idle time. They work fine as long as the user is actively doing

this question is rather related to samba, although not exclusively. I
consider it related enough to ask here, please apologise if you don't.
we are in the process of setting up a samba domain at my company. a goal is

to access the documents on the lan (and peoples home directories) from

Sorting alphanumerically
I'm trying to sort a DATAFRAME by a column "ID" that contains
alphanumeric data. Specifically,"ID" contains integers all preceeded
by the character "g" as in:
g1, g6, g3, g19, g100, g2, g39
I am using the following code:
DATAFRAME=DATAFRAME[order(DATAFRAME1$ID),]
and was hoping it would sort the dataframe by ID in the following manner
g1, g2, g3, g6, g19,

Changing CALLERIDNUM on the fly
Is what I am trying to do in this context possible. That is changing the
incoming CALLERIDNUM. In this case if the incoming CALLERIDNUM is not
preceeded by a "1" I want to add a "1". Often calls come in without the
preceeding "1" and this plays havoc with my redial if the 3 digit area
code matches a local 3 digit extension. All my outside calls are 10 digits
or 1+10

Hi aditya,
There are two ways to cound the number of predecessors for each basic block.
You can generate the control flow graph using the CallGraphScc pass with the
granularity of basic block and can simply traverse the graph bottom up till
the root. The number of nodes encountered would be the number of
predecessors.
The second way would be to use the special ;preds marker in the llvm IR.
