citrix stores addition information into SAM on pdc
hi,
we want to replace our nt4 pdc/bdc with samba and we use windows nt4 terminal servers with citrix in our environment.
as far as i know, we will get a problem here. (extensiver reading of the mailing list led me to this conclusion)

Citrix, Samba PDC experiences.
Hi all,
I've dug through the lists and google, but haven't found very
much info on using Citrix with a samba PDC. The small number of
messages and information I've found, lead me to believe it will
work. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge they'd be
willing to share? I'm currently involved in rolling out Citrix
for proprietary windows apps for remote offices.

RE: security=domain and Citrix MetaFrame on W2K was Windows 2000T erminal Server and Samba
Troy,
This does work in the security=domain situations (This is what I am
currently using in my smb.conf).
You do not need to do anything special for joining the doman when using the
aliases.

Samba as a PDC in a citrix environment
Hi all,
this is a long time since my last post to this list and I have got a small
question... (ofcource :)
I'm going to introduce citrix into our office (two citrix XPa servers which are
load balanced). According to the Citrix XPa docs it is not a good idea to use
one of this servers as a PDC/BDC, I can imagine that (we wouldn`t want to give
NT to much responsebilities).
so my question

SIP Softphones and Citrix ?
Anyone aware of any SIP softphones that might virtualize well with Citrix
presentation server? I suspect I know the answer already as I have been
researching softphones that work with Cisco CallManager that can be
virtualized if you will with Citrix and have come to learn that its not
something that seems to be doable at this time. I have to assume that the
issues affecting the virtualization of

Help with Citrix XenServer
Hi,
It''s been forever and a day since I last posted here, mainly because I
haven''t touched Xen in a few years now due to job changes... But now
I''ve been handed a project to work with XenServer, Citrix''s commercial
grade Xen.
So, I wanted to ask if there were any people here with experience
using XenServer, XenCenter and so on, or if you knew of a better list

Samba-Citrix compatability
G'day,
We are having problems when connecting to our Solaris 8 server Zeus from our Windows 2000 Terminal Servers. We are running Samba 2.2.8a on the unix box and are finding that from time to time people are having difficulty opening files from shares on this server. They also have difficulty mapping network drives. It reports errors such are "file doesn't exist". However, we

citrix, shadow, samba PDC
Hello!
We run samba 2.2.8a as PDC and we have citrix on w2k server in samba domain.
We need to do shadow to domain user's sessions without request.
For local users there is parameter in remote control (translation from
russian)
ask user (too).
But how can we do the same thing for samba domain users?
Thank you!

Citrix reports no more connections to samba server
Hi All
I have a Win2K server with Citrix Metaframe XPe installed on the network and
uses mapped network drives to a Samba file server. The Citrix server is
locking users out of the mapped network drive on the samba server.

Printer connection query - (Samba/Unix/Citrix)
Hi All
Do you know if it is possible to address a printer connected to a PC
from a UNIX server which is at another site?
If it is possible how do you do it?
1. There are high speed line printers which are connected to UNIX
servers in the regions.
2. HQ site is running a Citrix farm of 3 on Windows 2003 boxes
3. The users from the regions login to a terminal session to connect to HQ

2.2.3a PDC Win2K Citrix Profiles
This weekend I upgraded SAMBA from 2.2.2 to 2.2.3a then made it the PDC on
our LAN. Original PDC was an NT4 Server. There is a Win2K Server running
Citrix Metaframe-XP, and the old NT4 PDC Server was replaced with another
Win2K
Server to be the Database Server. I didn't want to bother with setting Win2K
up as a DNS and DFS/ADS Server (required for being a PDC), so selected to
make SAMBA the

Samba & Terminal Services / Citrix
Hello!
I have heard that there is a problem with using Samba along with Windows
Terminal Services and that it's related to session IDs with multiple users
coming from one server.
I'm in the process of moving to Windows Server 2003 using Citrix and hoping
to be able to revive our samba use.
Has anyone had any success with using samba in a Terminal Server / Citrix
environment?
Thanks

Citrix Web Interface requires unix and windows passwords to match - never mind
I overlooked that I did have some Citrix Presentation Servers for Unix
as well- so Citrix web interface would of course try to verify my
password on those machines as well.

Citrix Web Interface requires unix and windows passwords to match.
I am running Samba 3.026a, Solaris 9 PDC. Samba uses tdbsam password
backend. Unix level accounts are NIS. I am not using password
syncing or winbind on Samba, and I have not configured the Windows
servers to use NIS through SFU or Cygwin.
The "Windows" domain includes several Windows 2000/2003 member servers
running Citrix Presentation Server (aka Metaframe.) When using the

cifs-utils release 6.7 ready for download
The main change in this release is to address some regressions that
crept in when we switched to a scheme that does not rely on walking /tmp
to look for credcaches.
We now will use the information from the kernel about the initiating
pid, reach into that task's environment and scrape out the $KRB5CCNAME
variable. This can be problematic in setuid situations, so we avoid
doing that for the

Samba & Citrix
Hello Everybody,
I hope everybody is doing well and that you can help me out as I am
approaching my wit's end. I am running a Citrix server on a Windows
2000 SP 3 server. One of my published applications on this server needs
to access samba for multiple users. So basically every user who logs on
to the Citrix server needs to have access to their home directory on our
Unix server.

samba + citrix + drive mapping
Hi,
I am not sure if this question belongs here or on the Citrix forum. But
for whatever it is worth ...
I have a Samba3 server acting as PDC and several linux and windows
clients. Also there is a Citrix server in another NT4 domain that our
clients use to get common services. The issue I am seeing is that when
users login to the windows clients (that have joined the Samba domain),
their
