I couldn't install automatically the driver HP LaserJet 4050 Series PS on Windows 98
I've 2 machines : one is a samba server and one is client where I have installed Windows 2000/XP/98. HP LaserJet printing problems
Hi, I have some problems printing to a HP LaserJet 2300 and 4200, everything prints fine but I can't send more than 1 copy to the printer. I installed the printer on a local WinXP box with the HP installation CD and it worked fine but through Samba I can't print more than one copy. We have some other HP printers, a LaserJet 2200 and 4550 and they both work fine. It's like I can't

Linux driver for HP Laserjet 3500 printer - yum won't install
I'm trying to install the linux driver for an HP Colour Laserjet 3500 in CentOS 5. I've installed the kde.repo (with appropriate priorities set up), but when I try yum install pxljr-1.1-1.i386.rpm, yum says 'nothing to do' - is this because the priority protection won't let it install from the kde repo? The alternative approach seems to be to use yum localinstall with the

HP Laserjet WinXP driver install on samba 3.2.5 --> explorer.exe crash
Hi folks, I have a samba PDC with about 5 printers (from HP, Kyocera and Canon) and except the one HP Laserjet 2055 PCL6 all drivers (installed via 'Add Printer Wizard Driver Installation') for all printers did install well and without major issues in the print$-driver-share. With this driver all seems well until I finally hit the "ok"-button in the printer properties

Print speed with an HP Laserjet 4
I've also posted this message to the lprng list, but as I'm currently not sure where the problem lies, I'm posting it here too in the hope that someone has a clue..... I have recently installed a printer accounting system on my systems, and changed the print model for some of my users. In most cases, this has been fine, but users who are using HP Laserjet 4 printers are experiencing

a better smbstatus for monitoring samba ?
Hello, does anyone know if there is a tool in existence that can monitor samba shares like smbstatus but is much more advanced (and runs in console) , I mean a tool that has menues, some search options, and things sorted out nice. A Samba realtime monitor would be the best thing with lots of details and lots of options. I tried Swat, but that aint really a solution to watch who is connected

Installing HP Color Laserjet 3500 printer in CentOS 5
OK, I've downloaded and installed the driver (pxljr-1.1-1.i386.rpm), and the ppd file (HP-Color_LaserJet_3550-pxljr.ppd) in /etc/cups/ppd. Now I'm trying to set up the printer, connected to the network via a JetDirect printer server at location 192.168.0.200. Trouble is, I'm really not sure about all the settings in Printer Configuration - specifically, what should the Device URI be -

Question: HP LaserJet III
Here is my bit "o" problem: We have an HP Laser Jet III with the postscript add on. We have been using the printer under samba for while, but every print job, there is a page that says %[LAST PAGE]% + other garbage. Does anybody know of any hacks or fix's to get the printer / samba to get this system to not print that last page. Info: Clients = Win9X - Print via the HP LJ III PS

Samba, print$, HP Laserjet 8500, XP
Hi, If anyone is successfully using the HP LJ8500 driver that comes with Windows XP in your print$ share in Samba 3.0.x, can you please mail me privately. I understand the issues I am seeing are probably not Samba related. In case they ARE Samba related, here is the main issue. Printing color graphics onto an envelope from MS Word 2000. The first time an envelope is printed, the background

cups & hp-toolbox
Hello, I installed a printer (HP LaserJet 4350n) via CUPS Web Interface. Following this when I run hp-toolbox a dialog claiming that "No Installed HP Devices Found" is displayed. This is true even when I am the root user. This worked as expected on RHEL4 on the same computer (Thinkpad X31) with the same printer. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Thanks, roger wells -- Roger Wells,

Slow printing to HP jetdirect from cups
I've googled for this and poked around linuxprinting.org, but couldn't find anything helpful. I have a CentOS 5 server with an HP LaserJet 4 attached via JetDirect with the hplip driver. The problem is that when I have multiple print jobs in the queue, there is a delay of about 15 seconds between each job. This gets very annoying when there are 10-15 one-page jobs in the queue.

Why I can't set some default printer options for my HP 1015 + CUPS printer ??
Hi, Everyone! I've installed samba + print$ driver + cups successfully on my Debian Box, and I've made a simple page count program for the printed PCL and postscript files, it runs nicesly, but one problem I encountered is that I can't check the "Advanced " option on for the samba printer (I've tried to check them, but it does not take effect), while I can do it well

pdfs cause laserjet 4000s to hang - any workaround?
Before I start, I know this isn't a Samba-related issue but it seems to be a widespread enough problem that someone else may have figured out a Samba-oriented workaround, or any other solution for that matter. There seems to be a problem with certain models of HP Laserjet (including, but not limited, to the 4000 series and other models from the same era - it is apparently fixed in the 4100).
