Printing banners
Hi I'm running Samba 2.2.8a on a UnixWare 7.1.3 box. I'd set up the Samba printer shares, and it seemed to be working fine (only live for a couple of weeks). However, I've just added some heavy users, and the printer daemon keeps bombing out. I'd configured the printers to use lpr, but someone suggested I should use lp, so I thought I'd give this a go at the weekend.

Printer access errors
Hi I'm set up Samba on a UnixWare 7.1.3 server, and had configured the printer shares. They're all global in the [printers] section. When I log in at a Windows XP PC as root, I'm able to print to all the printers. However, when I try to add a new printer or look at the print queue on the Windows client side as a different user, I see 'Access denied, unable to connect'

configure.in reorder patch
Feb 12 CVS (sort of, see warning below) I've had to change around some of the code in configure.in to get some platforms to compile with the --with-tcp-wrappers option. Basicly I have set it up to check headers check system libraries check for optional packages check functions I have also tried to clean up the library order as it is important on some platforms. This patch works on Solaris

Unable to open printcap file lpstat
Hi I?ve been carrying out some upgrades to our SCO Unixware 7 server. I?ve updated from 7.1.3 to 7.1.4, and then installed maintenance pack2. On the Samba side, this means that Samba has been upgraded from 2.2.8a (with UnxWare 7.1.3) to 3.0.0 (with UnixWare 7.1.4). Everything seemed to be working fine at this point. Samba was then upgraded to 3.0.10 (with maintenance pack 2), and I

Availablity of OpenSSH on SCO Unixware 7.1.2
I have been asked to investigate the use of OpenSSH on some of our systems. These systems are running SCO OpenUnix ( Unixware 7.1.2). Are you aware of any issues that may prevent me from using OpenSSH on this version of SCO. Which file to use?
To Whom It May Concern: We see three files, openssh-3.8pq.tar.ga, openssh-3.8p1.tar.gz.sig, and openssh-3.8p1-vs-openbsd.diff.gz Do we need one of these or a different file to load? Currently, we're running SCO UnixWare 7.1.1, and could upgrade to 7.1.3. Thanks for your help. -Tom Phan

Samba and Foxpro for Unix
Hi ! I have an unique situation. An SCO Unixware 7.1.3 with Samba 2.2.7a (yes, i know; it sucks !) On the machine, is running MS Foxpro 2.6 for UNIX (it's running pretty well for several years) but due to new demands (like Crystal Reports, Visual view; etc) the directories with DBF files were shared using Samba. At the beginning, when everything was only about reading, there were no

rsync 2.5.5 SCO Unixware patch
Hello list, This is a patch to rsync 2.5.5, and it serves two purposes. The small patches to batch.c, flist.c and log.c simply add "void" to some function definitions so that all declarations in proto.h have full parameter lists. unsigned char read_batch_flags() OLD unsigned char read_batch_flags(void) NEW The SCO UNIXWare compiler correctly objected to these functions not having a

configure changes
I finally got around to looking at a bunch of patchs to configure.in, some of them from back in March. One from Carson Gaspar <carson at taltos.org> looked promissing at first glance but after many hours I just couldn't get it to work. Due to much demand, I have added optional PATH to --with-pcre, --with-zlib, and --with-tcp-wrappers. I have done extensive testin on --with-zlib, and

openssh-1.2.1pre24 on SCO
Yo All! Sorry if this is obvious but I am new to openssh. I have used the original ssh for a while and am familiar with it (and it's restrictive license). I am trying to port openssh-1.2.1pre24 on to SCO UnixWare 7.1.0. I will post the small patches when it is really running. Two problems, SCO has no /dev/random so I installed egd-0.6. It usually works but sometimes dies. I have sent

OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 bug with SCO UnixWare 7.1.0
I wasn't sur if you're the right person to send the bug reports to... SCO Unixware 7.1.0 (uname: UnixWare) and probably the 2.1.x versions (uname: UNIX_SV) requires also to have USE_PIPES defined. Also when compiling with tcpwrap it doesn't link due to the fact that UW doesn't have setenv() and libwrap have one built-in (duplicate symbols)... Also when using the SSH2 protocol to
