I've also got problems downloading drivers from samba to a windows client.
I'm running Debian Samba 3.0.7-1, and Cupssys 1.1.20final
My Windows Client is a Win2KPro.
I succesfully installed my printers with Cups and they work fine under
Linux, and from remote cups clients.
I've been trying to follow the samba docs on serving postscript drivers
for cups from the print share in

CUPS postscript driver - setting up **ERRATA**
Hi All,
Following instructions from here:
http://samba.mirror.ac.uk/samba/docs/man/CUPS-printing.html#id2942237
and also in the "Official Samba Howto" book, I tried to install the CUPS PS
driver using cupsaddsmb.
It failed due to various reasons, and then I finally got it to work.
When I unpacked the latest tar.gz file (cups-samba-5.0rc3.tar.gz) it doesn't
unpack the files as:

samba on nfs server or client
Hello all. I hope this question is not too dumb, but
I thought I'd ask it anyway since I'd like to get the
opinion of the samba gurus out there. My question is
this:
-- is it better to run smbd and nmbd on a server that
acts as a NFS server and has disks directly attached to it
or is it better to run samba on a seperate machine that
acts as a client to the NFS server?

Printer on LDAP PDC debug help?
Mandrake 10.0 LDAP PDC with ldapauth.
Server is a member of the PDC but not using winbind since we have
ldapauth. Basically this just means that I used:
net rpc join -U Administrator%PASSWORD
I've been going by the HOWTOs and books from the beginning. I even have
the Samba HOWTO Guide and Reference in dead tree format.
Today I tried using a simple setup from this site:

No joy adding a CUPS printer
I'm trying to change my Samba setup from LPD to CUPS, with little
success. I've followed [and re-followed] the setup documentation
from CUPS and I just can't get Samba to recognize my printer.
The catch is - it sort of recognizes it :-(
First I added these lines to my smb.conf:

Samba3 Win95 interoperability
Greetings,
I am trying to get samba3 to work well with W95. The windows 95
box can see the samba server, but cannot authenticate (claims wrong
password) to get to any shares. I know the smbpasswd is good as I can
authenticate and get to the shares using the same account and password on
a W2000 machine. I suspect I am doing something wrong in the [global]
section of the samba server.

Looping auth problem
Hello,
We have had an unusual problem start this week. I observed smbd process
using lots of CPU time for an extended period of time. Upon looking at
the log for that machine with debug=2, I discovered that a client PC was
looking for information on a particular user on our network over and
over. That user is a valid user on our network. Killing the effected
smbd process did not work; another

Problems when using cupsaddsmb
Hi!
First of all, I have to admit that it is my first post on this list, so
please be lenied toward me, if I don't obey some of the rules ;-) I'll
try my best :-)
I am just trying to get my samba-server work as a print server by using
CUPS. The OS of the server is Gentoo Linux and I'm using samba-3.0.9-r1.
The clients are win 2k/xp home. I can already see my shares (files and
