OT ? Number portability, land line to Cell
Having had various issues with local vendor (begins with "V"). am looking to move to all wireless. Anyone know if current vendor can refuse to port the current land line numbers to a wireless provider?

Implementing ext3
I plan on using ext3 on a Hardware RAID5 drive.
Linux will be seeing this drive as 170GB drive. Has anyone had any
problems with ext3 on a drive this large? Also, how large should I make
the journal file upon creation?
Thanks

Win95 Issue
For some reason I'm getting Access denied errors when I try to execute a
.bat file that resides on a samba share (from a Win95 command prompt). The
drive is mapped as x:\ & for the sake of testing, the directory has been
recursively set to 777 (chmod).
Command prompt output:

Samba on Solaris with LDAP support
I'm trying to build samba with ldap/ads support on a solaris10 sparc
system. After some googling, I followed some the advise of others, and
built krb5, openssl, and openldap and installed into /usr/local.
When running configure, I get errors about ldap not being found:

Upgrade from 2.4.4 to 2.4.6
Hi,
I've had some issues with rsync over ssh with version 2.4.4 which an update
to 2.4.6 fixed. The problem I have now is that machines which do not have a
valid reverse dns entry for their IP addresses get empty directory listings
from the server, even though they can get the module list and the motd each
time. This is what I see in the server's log file for each attempt from
such hosts

EXT3 Trouble on 2.4.4
All,
I know that there is no official port to Kernel 2.4.4, thus I may not get any
help, however I am hoping someone could point me in the right direction for
my problem. I am currently forced to use kernel 2.4.4 for reasons out of
my control (embedded board).
Here are the exact versions of everything I'm running:
ExT3 Version: ext3-2.4-0.9.6-248
Util Version: util-linux-2.11f.tar.bz2

Max Mount Count
For some odd reason, I'm getting some off the wall occurances with a ext3
partition.
During a normal reboot:
/dev/sdb1 has reached maximal mount count, check forced.
Is this normal? I thought JFS's were supposed to alleviate this check, or
is that just for fs corruption?
Here's my sys info:
Linux 2.2.19 running Redhat 6.2
EXT3 is only on /dev/sdb1, mounted as /mnt/raid

Traffic Shaping
Dear List,
I am wanting to perform some traffic shaping as the subject of this email
suggests.
What I am wanting to do is this; I would like to have traffic shaping
performed on the following protocols: HTTP, RDP, GRE, PPTP, SIP and IAX.
Obviously I would like to have highest priority set for voice packets so
much so that the general http traffic does not impede on the voice packets.

CCF for hourly time series?
Hello,
I have a dataframe containing various time series (not time series objects though!)with hourly time steps. I?d like to perform ccf for I need to know the correlation factors for different lags.
Here is an example:
x<-as.POSIXct(c("2008-12-25 16:00:00", "2008-12-25 17:00:00", "2008-12-25 18:00:00", "2008-12-25 19:00:00", "2008-12-25

I'm currently using it, and the performance sucks. Perhaps it's
not the software itself or the CPU but the on-board controllers

kernel panic on ext3
Hello, Sir.
My name is Hiroyuki Kudo.
I have a problem using ext3 in my system DELL PowerEdge 1550.
I recently installed RedHat 7.2 (kernel-2.4.7-2) and found that it
used ext3. Later, since I needed to use nfsv4, I got
kernel-2.4.4-nfsv4. But it didn't start up and saying `kernel panic`
What is wrong with it?
If the problem can be cleared with ext3-patch, how can I do it?

[RFC] Tablegen-erated GlobalISel Combine Rules
Hi Daniel,
Disclaimer: Haven't read the proposal yet.
> TL;DR: We're planning to define GlobalISel Combine Rules using MIR syntax with a few bits glued on to interface with the algorithm and escape into C++ when we need to. Eventually, ISel rules may follow suit.
I would rather avoid adding a dependency on yet another tablegen
backend to the project unless we are confident it is

Trying to build custom Python 2.4.4 RPM
I'm trying to build a custom RPM with a standalone Python 2.4.4 in the /opt
directory to keep it isolated from the stock version of Python in CentOS
4.4. The end goal is to use it in conjunction with yet-to-be-built RPMS of
the current versions of Zope and Plone.
The spec file I've constructed allows me to build a RPM successfully, but
when I try to install the RPM, it complains:

IPV6 in version 2.4.4
Hi,
I would like to know whether Icecast version 2.4.4 supports IPV6 listener connections? I have some mobile phone users that connect to my web server with an IPV6 address but then connect to the Icecast server via IPV4. I assume that IPV6 is supported in version 2.5, but I am not able to upgrade to that version just yet. If it is supported in version 2.4.4, can anyone refer to me to

ext3 problem
Hello
Does anybody know that Linux kernel 2.4.4 supports ext3 fs (module or embedded). I looked at the
config menus, but I couldn't see ext3 support. I don't know whether the other ext3 modules work
under a kernel which does not support ext3. I will try to insmod ext3 modules.
I'm searching and trying newly built kernels.
Any help or comments are welcome.
Best regards
