winbindd using FQDN domain name now?
As of RC3 and RC4, I've noticed that winbindd's wb_getpwuid function is using the form <FQDN-domain><winbind-seperator><username>, and before, it was simply <NetBIOS-domain><winbind-seperator><username>. The net effect of what I'm seeing is that users which have a UNIX account locally on the samba box and also a domain account are being

Macro arguments seperator
Hi! I am in the process of upgrading our 1.2 servers to 1.6. We have a lot of realtime extensions with app=Macro and appdata=stdexten|080512|SIP/080512 But this does not work in 1.6. It is expecting , and not | as the argument seperator. If I change the | to , then it does not work in 1.2. Is there any backwards compatible switch you can enable in 1.6, so it accepts | as a argument seperator

lazy_expunge and emails from Inbox, doesn't list INBOX in deleted
I'm using the dovecot available on Ubuntu Feisty (1.0rc17) and am trying to migrate from courier-imap. A really important feature for me from courier is that expunged messages end up in Trash where they are removed after 7 days. I can get an approximation of this feature as described in the documentation: namespace private { prefix = INBOX. seperator = . inbox = yes } namespace

Odd behavior of winbind
Hi, I have an odd problem with winbind. I use it for, among other thing, nsswitch user resolution. I believe it have a problem with accessing information for a single user, or with caching. When I request info for a specific user, it fail (trying to login also fail with NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_USER). But it work when I request info for all users. And then, login and getent for single account start

valid users %g and %u not behaving properly...
Hello. I have samba working with ADS and winbind (upgrading from nt4/samba-2.0.7 to w2k3/samba-3.0.4). Everything seems cool, but for one thing. My old homes share used to look like this: [homes] path=%H/sam valid users = +%G,%U force user = %U force group = %G write list = +%U create mask = 0770 directory mask = 0770 browseable=no read only = no It worked beautifully. But the whold valid

1.2: Bug in listing of shared mailboxes with dot in user id
In dovecot 1.2 I can create a shared name space like this: namespace shared { separator = / prefix = users/%%u/ location = Maildir:/PATH/TO/spool/%%u/maildir:INDEX=/PATH/TO/spool/%u/maildir/shared_idx subscriptions = no } now, when I subscribe to a shared mailbox of another user with an dot in the users id, like: users/2 at example.com/INBOX/foo and I list my subscribed mailboxes I get:

Making winbindd and pam_mount play nice together (2nd try)
We're trying to set up linux based workstations that use a win2k AD/DC for authentication, and pam_mount to mount a share as the user's home directory. It looks like winbind isn't passing on the credentials (although it is getting us logged in). If anyone has made this work, I'd love the details. It looks like winbind isn't passing the auth information thanks jim

Version 1.0.13 - Maildir directory names
I am running Maildir (obtained via [mac|darwin] ports) on my Powerbook Pro to operate as local mail storage. My mail is stored in the Maildir format. Is it possible to set Maildir not to put a dot in front of the directory names? (e.g., ~/Maildir/somefolder instead of ~/Maildir/.somefolder). OS X's spotlight indexing/search service will not index "hidden" directories (those that

Realtime semi-colon
Hi list, Does anyone know how to send * a semi-colon from a realtime database. I know that * uses the semi-colon as a 'seperator' - but I need to be able to use one in a command. I know I can use \; in the non-realtime configs, but this doesn't work in realtime. Hello all! I have a samba server as a member of a domain with trust relationships to two other domains. Samba is configured with: winbind use default domain = yes winbind separator = + so the domain samba is member of does not use the seperator, but the other 2 domains do.
