Re: Samba PDC and Kerberos(MIT or SEAM in Uinx, without microsoft ADS)
Hi, Andrew,
Thank you very much for your answer.
Now our case is as below:
1, our client machine is the windows 2000
2, We want our Kerberos run in the Unix box.
3, We also want the samba as PDC for all windows user and machine.
4, We want integrate the Kerberos Authentication with samba authentication.
So in this situation, can we get the kerberos login from the windows

Samba 3, Win2K, and MIT KDC -- possible?
After setting up Samba 3 I noticed the Windows 2000 box was
requesting a ticket from the KDC for HOST/<NETBIOS NAME>@MYREALM.COM
when it tried to connect to the Samba server. I presume that W2K is
sending the ticket it is granted along to the Samba server. If that
presumption is correct, is it possible to make Samba authenticate the
user with the Kerberos ticket they present? If so, how

Samba as a PDC with LDAP and Kerberos
I've been searching and researching this and I can't seem to find the
answers I'm looking for. I'd like to setup a Samba PDC that Windows
clients will join. The PDC will use an LDAP backend to get authorization
information (username, home directory, etc). The authentication portion
is handled by an MIT Kerberos KDC. I think I'm real close to having it
all together but I'm

"Failed to verify incoming ticket!" with Windows 2003 Server
Hi, all!
I have the following environment here:
- A Windows 2000 domain, with one server running Windows 2003 Server
- A kerberos realm, using MIT Kerberos
- A samba server, with security=ads
The Windows 2003 server have a trust relationship with the MIT kerberos
realm. Users logs on that kerberos realm on their Windows workstations,
and are supposed to have access to the shares at samba

Managed to make some progress, stuck again.
Hi,
An update on my work to integrate my Linux server (CentOS 4.3) in AD
2003.
Sorry about the long post :)
Found this page
(http://www.enterprisenetworkingplanet.com/netos/article.php/3487081)
and followed the instructions on it.
First, I made sure that the Samba installation is supporting Kerberos,
LDAP, AD and Windbind. That was OK.
I made sure that /etc/hosts contain the name of the AD

Samba as a PDC with LDAP and Kerberos
I'm a little confused on one section here... Where are your passwords being
stored? kerberos? If so, how does samba look there? What is the
significance of the {SASL}USER at REALM in LDAP? Is there another password
store that you are syncing with krb?
Sorry for my ignorance here but after hours and hours of trying different
things, I'm unable to use my kerberos backend with samba.

Active directory authentification with Samba
Hi,
I looked at the doc but I can't find what I'm looking for.
I have 1 Linux server (CentOS 4.3) running Samba 3.0.10 in a Windows
2003 AD domain. I modified Samba's conf file to point it to our WINS
server. We can access the share using \\servername. So far so good.
Is there a way to use AD to authenticate the users instead of the Samba
users that are on the server?
Thanks!
Simon

Export a function from RCPP in R of type double
Hello to everyone
I have written a small c++ function of type double function(double,double);
and i want to export it in R using RCPP. After some trials i have realized
that the only way i could do it working is to declare the function as void
function (double x, double y, double result) and pass the result with RCPP
Can you please tell me if this is the only way out?
And if this is the case how

samba with kerberos
I'm sorry if this is documented somewhere.... I certainly couldn't find it
though.
We are currently using the registry hack to allow unencrypted passwords from
our NTsp3+ and 95 clients. We currently have 2 passwords, one considered
secure (the Kerberos password - used for UNIX desktop logins and such) and one
considered insecure (currently just used for POP and samba - we have no

Hi, all
Tell me, please, how to establish outgoing REALM trust with Samba4 from
Windows? It is possible?
On Samba4 side I have created user with name fqdn-of-windows-host and
password fqdn-of-windows-host-password and then
samba-tool spn add host/fqdn-of-windows-host fqdn-of-windows-host
On Windows side I have executed:
ksetup /addkdc SAMBA-REALM samba-fqdn
What to do then?

Fwd: Re: rsyncd.conf chroot yes problem with symlink-ing
Ok it's now Solved !
In spite of trying all day long to figure it out what's wrong in my sintax
i could find, ...using a pencile and a pice of paper, combining all
commands parameters invoked so far and, came to the conclusion that -L does
not stand with -l , think that i couldn't find in any docs or faq so far.
Now, symlinks are being copied without a trouble.
