SuSE Winbind "Zen" Question with Samba 3.0.4
OK, I fixed all of my winbind problems (I think), but I'm not sure the
outcome is optimal, so I'm looking for advice and counsel at more of a
philosophical level, rather than a pure technical level.
I would be grateful for comments on the following setup:

OpenBSD-alpha and R-1.7.1 problem
I'm trying to get R running on OpenBSD/alpha.
I've applied some configure patches which I've previously sent to the
R-devel list to allow R to compile on an OpenBSD ELF platform (which
OpenBSD/alpha is, as the i386 port soon will be).
The patched source compiles without problems, and appears to run and
perform properly apart from two (possibly unrelated) problems.

Help With Winbind Please
Setting up a temporary Samba Member Server as part of a domain with real
NT4 PDC and BDC machines. In two months the NT domain will go away to
be replaced by Samba/LDAP PDC and BDCs, but for now I'm stuck using
Winbind.
Actually, I'm just stuck!
The Samba box is running SuSE 9.0 and Samba 3.0.4-5 installed from the
SerNet rpms (ftp.sernet.de).

Hi
I am using repeated meaturement data for my project and I want to use quantile
regression with multilevel or panel data in "R."
I dont find the basic version of software in R, so I have difficulty in using
it.
I would also appreciate if anyone more proficient in R could help me how to run

Can you help with empirical probability?
Hi Partha. I really liked your email that you sent me, it really inspired me. I have been breezing through the chapters, and doing quite well, You should be a teacher. After all the time my college instructor spent with the class on the slopes etc.... There were very few of us who really understood it. However, after reading

Java Bridge Itext Example Anyone?
I MAY be able to derive something out of the present example given here
:
http://blog.codeinmotion.com/index.php/2006/12/22/pdf-generation-in-ruby-on-rails/
but this deals with filling out forms. Is there a simpler example that
just allows you to talk to itext , send it some plain text and get back
a pdf and then send that pdf to the user as downloadable / renderable
data?

Domain logon against a Windows Server 2003 based AD
Hi,
I'm trying to configure my Mandrake V10 box to do user authentication
against an ActiveDirectory domain hostet on Windows Server 2003.
And guess what, I have some problems :)
I used drakauth (similar to authconfig on RedHat) to configure the
authentication against a windows domain. I was asked some questions
concerning domain, domain controller, administrator account and

Can't join Domain on PDC: NT_STATUS_CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO (PAM: 4)
Hi all,
I've got the following problem when trying to join a domain on a samba pdc
itself:
net rpc join eccag -U root
asks for password an then tells me that it cannot connect to the PDC.
Winbind-log gives the following:
[2004/08/31 02:29:15, 0] nsswitch/winbindd_util.c:get_trust_pw(1024)
get_trust_pw: could not fetch trust account password for my domain ECCAG

Dear SAMBA experts,
I have several RHEL4 servers where samba is working perfectly with the exact same configuration file as is the case for this RHEL5 server, but on RHEL5 I cannot join the domain controlled by a win2003 server.
>From running the following command this is extracted:
[root@skade ~]# net rpc testjoin -d5

having trouble building r-devel
Dear R-devel
On my Windows 2000 machine, I can build R-patched but not R-devel (since at least 1/9/2004). An error message pops up during the execution of some R code during "make", as below. In terms of "make" etc., I am totally clueless (not being a user of either Linux or C) and just mechanically follow the instructions in the R documentation; hence I've got no idea
